I real want to max on deadlift, but whats a good reps scheme?

    Hello fellow powerlifters,

I need to know the best rep scheme to max on deadlift. Last time I maxed I got 375 lbs and my rep scheme was 222x5, 275x5, 315x5,375x1. I know that was a bad way of doing it.I think I can pull 400 lbs if i do it right. Any tips ?

    I personally would do...

    135X6
    225X4
    275X2
    365X1
    400X1

    Something like that.

For me less is more. If I'm going for my max of 160.5 I'd do something like 100x5
    130x2
    160.5x1

I'd say just get warmed up(not fatigued and don't burn alot of calories) really good before you even start lifting your warmup weights and you'll do great. Running is a great way to warm up before something like the deadlift but I wouldn't recommend running a mile, maybe jog a 1/4-1/2 mile just to get your heartrate up not to tire yourself out.
