It's a cultural thing. It was (is?) fairly typical to take matters into your own hands with problem dogs in rural America. Whether you agree with how she handled it or not, there is no doubt that she is a complete moron for publicizing it, given that most people in the rest of America are going hear this newsbyte and think she's a monster for killing a dog. That's my biggest issue with it. She didn't have to do that. She could have found it a home. She had the means. But it looks like she lost her temper and killed it.

Not good for a potential leader. And again I like her policies but to me this is a red flag.

She claims it was a tough decision, but also said she hated the dog. Those two don't jive. Sounds like she lost it and reacted emotionally. Not what I would want in a leader. She was stupid putting it in her book to prove she can make the tough decisions, when it really wasn't tough for her.
