Question for all you non-tippers?
Doesn't it suck that you can never return to a restaurant a second time without serious risk of your food being tampered with?

You don't tip Mcdonald's workers and they survive on peanuts. So why should some restaurant get a fat cut?! Most of them likely pocket it ahead of their staff anyway. CUCKED.

At McDonalds you walk your fatass to the counter and grab your tray of food.
Half the people will miss that their number was called and their food will sit there. Others will complain about something on the tray. More will pile around the drink fountain and condiments station.
Now imagine that with everyone getting their own silverware, coming up for appetizers, returning for entrees.
Has the self-checkout lines not taught you all that a little bit of service goes a long way in keeping fking morons from ruining what should be a routine, well managed system?
I'll gladly tip if it means I don't have to mill around with a bunch of retards at a counter. The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

I understand servers and DoorDashers getting tips, but every single establishment asks for tips these days. If you get a tea they want a tip so it's $10 when you walk out the door.
Now they turn the iPad on you like you HAVE to give them a tip vs. the tip jar. Meanwhile the lowest choice is 20% or you have to select Custom to put in a lower amount.
It's crazy.

I typically tip well. 18-22%. My GF has some younger cousins that are servers and we know a lot of people in the restaurant industry. We eat out all the time. We always get good service.
I don't give anything to the homeless or panhandlers. But I've no qualms about tipping someone well who's serving me. The money really doesn't mean much to me. Feels good to help out a young person that's hustling at their job.

Servers and other fields where tipping has always been, I tip well, however fast food places and other businesses? Fuk u for asking.
Straight up said something to the managers of a Moe's about it. If it's a sit down restaraunt where the server preps your table, comes brings drinks and takes your order, brings your food, checks on everything, brings the bill, where they legit do spend time and make an effort, hell yeah I'm going to tip them. A server (waitress/waiter) can only have a few tables at a time. However, a fast food line like Moes, why should they get a tip for a few seconds of work? If everyone tipped those jobs would be fought over. In an hour, 50-60 people will go through the line, eve everyone tipped $5, you are talking those people would make 100K a year making burritos.

I think people are mad that the price of eating out is expensive and restaurant owners don't pay waiters a good salary.
The truth of the matter is. The restaurant industry is a tough game. Most places either fail or struggle to stay afloat. The places that do well, do extremely well. But they are not the norm. If the owners were forced to pay a high salary. To the point where tipping was not necessary. Most restaurants would be closing their doors. Or they'd have to massively upcharge the food/drink.
Nobody wants to live in a place that's dying. With restaurants and retail stores going out of business. Vacant buildings everywhere. No new growth. No new places to shop/eat at/go to. But guess what. Having a thriving local economy is dependent on locals spending money at local businesses.
My GF owned a restaurant briefly. It was an upscale Sushi/Steakhouse. They made 0 profit on food sales. The only thing that turned a profit was soft drink/alcohol sales. It was expensive AF to have fresh fish/steak shipped in daily and use high quality/fresh vegetables/ingredients.
If she'd have had to pay her waiters minimum wage she'd have likely had to tripled the menu prices. At the minimum. Place would have died almost immediately.
