Another gag order hearing occurred today. Apparently, Trump spoke negatively about the judge during a rally, said some stuff about the jury, and said stuff about a few witnesses

Key word here is illegally, which just isn't true. Nondisclosure agreements are not illegal. No matter how the DA tries to manipulate state law, no campaign finances were used, and the payment can reasonably be argued to protect his family, his business, multiple other things outside of his campaign.

And some people are just opportunistic parasites. Even if they were never intimate, someone could threaten a story leak in the run up to the election, and it is easier just to pay them off than to let them leak a false story and then have to deny it. Very unlikely thats what happened. Trumps lawyers have shown stormy's lawyer has a history of getting celebrities to pay him under threat of releasing fake stories. Stormy herself confirmed years ago that she was never involved with trump. Keep in mind that during the same election cycle, Clinton and the DNC used campaign funds to manufacture the Steele dossier, and these payments were hidden through their law firm (Perkins Coie) as legal fees. Clinton literally used campaign funds to pay foreignn nationals for fake russian dirt on her opponent, then leaked it ot the media and intel to try to sway the election. The DNC also colluded with ukranians to manufacture the black ledger against manafort, which was also used to try to sway to election and dirty up Trump's campaign. She received a fine for the payments, and nobody has ever heard of it.

So one candidate literally hid payments that went to foreign nationals to interfere in our election, while the other used his own money to silence a prostitute, and only one is on trial right now for a "campaign finance violation."
