I have a pitbull. Sure she's 80 lbs all muscle and strong as fck but other dogs bark at her and she gets scared and wants to cuddle with them. There's no fighting spirit in her at all. One time, these 2 big dogs were barking at her hard as hell and she was so scared and came back to me terrified


I trained her to be a sweetie pie so maybe if I trained her from a young age to be aggressive, it could be different but there's no fighting spirit there naturally whatsoever

This is why you can't compare Pit bulls to other dogs in terms of aggression/destruction. I always see "Durrrrr this Chihuahua is more aggressive than any pitbull I've seen!" pit went for his neck around the mid point and got it but a bunch of skin so its all superficial. looks like mastif was about to take it out with the grip it had on the pit with his head turned sideways it was getting its lower canines into its neck pretty good.

a lot of animals have excess skin/fat tissue to protect them. badgers/weasel type animals usually have lose skin so the wounds are superficial. rhinos hard thick layers of outer skin. lookst like the mastif extra skin is there to protect it.

However it can be argued that dogs ancestors willingly submitted themselves to us as a superior survival strategy compared to their non-subservient brethren. For a lifetime of subservience they gained shelter, warmth (fire), protection, and food. Not a bad deal compared to a life left to the mercy of Nature.
