I don't know, DMV has gotten WAAAAAAY better, especially when all you do now is make an appointment online, show up, and you're in and out with a new DL in 15 minutes.
People really don't understand how bad Universal Healthcare would be though, one of my biggest fears on this job is getting injured. Cops will get injured, and after numerous appointments, they'll finally get the necessary surgery six months later.

We now have 341 million people and universal care will vary wildly in Montana compared to California compared to West Virginia.
It can be done but you need smarter people than dmv employees to design it and there are rush emergency appointments for situations like Mark1T described.
Rush appointments. There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

Hey Benny?
Biden won't always be here for you little buddy.. In fact some of us remember the tantrum you all threw over the "Trump Vaccine" and your adamant refusals to take it. Shiit your pants in absolute terror over covid, but your seething political hatred caused you all to tuck tail and cower even more when the president you didn't like offered to help.
Your story changed though in January 2021. Didn't it.
So keep that in mind next time you think you want "the government" to cure your illnesses or injuries."Do you think SHE actually felt like that was a sexual thing he was doing? She's like 6. Only an actual p3do would think that she thought he was groping her, too."

Because I don't trust our politicians to implement anything even remotely resembling a competent system. It will cost 10x what it should, be 1/10th the quality it could be, and benefit only the absolute poorest of the poor, politicians who skim money off the top for a profit, and whatever lobby/special interest group campaigned the hardest. Meanwhile everyone who pays any taxes would see no positive or gain from it.
Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.
Performance and performance alone dictates the predator in any food chain.

Rolls eyes..... at the fictional story that Momma June just made up above.
Yawn, the truth is...a track record was needed before folks were willing to take it.
N= old people first and if they lived we began when we could get a shot based on age.
No one ****..... anything we followed the state and local suggestions, no more no less and took extra care around our old family...as any normal person would do.
Maybe not you because you are abnormal and don't like family or friends. That is if you have any?
And no the story didn't change, people kept getting it with and without shots and some of us got boosted. Depended on your situation and circumstances.
That is why your lazy lying generalizations are so fkn comical, we all had differing situations.
Most of this was state and local government so your political commentary is moot.
Think this one out better next time when you spout off about things, stay in your lane because you are swerving badly.Last edited by x-trainer ben; 12-18-2023 at 09:35 AM.

Every ****ing day he gets sadder and more pathetic...... There's posters like Patty, who cause me to laugh, but every time Benny posts, I just cringe..... Like, how does someone like him really exist in real life, he's like a character that Stephen King would make up in one of his books.
A Harold like character from The Stand.....

He's already gotten one booster, but it was for his family...... Oh wait..... Never mind, it was because his job made him.
Just like how he saved his masks and testing kits for the future winter surge....... Oh wait, the masks are for mowing the lawn......
And he was a cool cat during the Rona...... Except when he complained how he wished for this to be over, because he had "COVID Fatigue," and admitting the pathetic way he would spend Thanksgiving and Christmas......

It really would be like that scene in 40 year old Virgin, if he hung out with straight male friends, he'd be talking about how much of a freak his GF, that he's had for "decades" is in bed......
Then he'd be like, "I AM straight, I'm into MILF porn!!!"
"Would a gay guy invite a complete stranger over to his place, where I'd strip down to a banana hammock and flex my rock hard, 230lbs of dense muscle, that I got from decades of heavy lifting???!!!!"

1. Comparing successful systems elsewhere to the USA generally doesn't work. We're pretty corrupt, bloated and have massive expenses Government's in Europe do not have, such as us paying for their military protection. Even if it *can* work, that doesn't mean it won't fall apart in a country of 320M run by used car salesmen crooks.
2. Even in successful UHC systems there are drawbacks. One being the access of service, the quality of service, the speed of service, etc... some people might prefer paying for better quality healthcare, if they can afford it Vs the potentially bare-minimum stuff every person gets.
3. It's not 'for free', you're paying for it either way. Here, and especially in this country, odds are you're just paying the same amount, getting less for it and paying for some 'less privileged' person voting for Democrats. As a side-tangent, look what California did with solar panels. People who could afford them bought them. They're paying them off and hoping for that investment to work out. Meanwhile, ass**** politicians passed rules so that everyone pays the same, for "diversity" and to score votes from leeches, which works. Now, all those people with solar panels get no benefit from them but need to pay them off. The same fools who made those decisions easily could be in control of Congress, the White House, etc...
... so, to me those are some marks against it.
However, I will say -- UHC, even with it's potential dangers and flaws, while not my first choice -- it would be better than what we have now in many ways. In some ways, we have the worst of both worlds, expensive **** that isn't that great putting many people into bankruptcy, corrupt to the bone w/ collusion between corporations and politicians, etc, etc...All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Suprised that you can read at all, but good for you.
Why is this still your main focus/obsession and not how to implement this (national health care) logically!?
Are you a 1 trick Pony that can't discuss 2 topics at once ?
So you always revert back to your safe space "comfy" topics from 3-4 years earlier?
Again no one wanted it, but the idea was protection at the time and the old people did not die....
Now on to the actual topic that OP posted about.
Stop being a Reeee taaarhd

We are not in an emergency, a case by case basis; do you even read medical and health news and information?

Stick to it
"Why would Americans reject universal healthcare?
Universal healthcare does not even mean a government run healthcare system, you have countries like Switzerland and Singapore which arguably are more private focused than the US and yet they still guarantee care to everyone regardless of income."
op's original question which has zero to do with covid...There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

It does because you "implied", your fav phrase..... that users of the vax wanted all others to be forced which is a lie, no one cared what you did or didn't do.
We all studied history and the Tuskeege experiment in school and college.
So what are your actual thoughts on universal healthcare since you gullibly went for Momma Junes switch to Covid from the real topic... universal care? There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

Where did I do that itt? Please provide the quote.
Even if I had done that, you still claimed that "No one wanted it" which is absurdly false. Are you still going to continue doubling down and/or deflecting on this and making a bigger fool of yourself (it's difficult to believe such a thing is possible at this point, but I'm sure you're up to it)?
Also "no one cared what you did or didn't do". Is also another absurd lie. I mean yeah, vax mandates (like Biden did for the DoD and Federal employees for example) - employers firing or threatening to fire, people screeching about the "unvaxxed" endlessly...yeah those people clearly didn't care about what others "did or didn't do".
