    ok, back to our sheep, John, big or small does not carry any meaning in our game. He can flex whatever nobody gets impressed, we seen it all. It is an attitude, progress, this is something that earns my respect. LWW claim to make progress, however I have not seen any numbers. Talk is cheap. We need moves at x lbs and x reps. We ( I ) am only impressed when there are numbers before and after, bicep circumference, skin folds etc. Everything else is subjective, and as such is a lie.
    He is actually making decent progress. He has dropped a good amount of fat while maintaining strength. Sure, he has goofy ideas, has a weird fascination with Ken Patera and 80's pro wrestling, but half the time I think he is just f'cking with us. If he hits a 225 lb overhead press, he will definitely have my respect on that.

    As far as the "nobody here lifts" sentiment, I don't think that is true. For years after I joined the site, I only discussed training, but after being on fitness boards for 20-ish years, my interest in discussing training has severely waned...and so I mostly hang around here due to inertia. That said, I train as hard as ever and since the pandemic have even added some new things I never would have considered (weighted ring dips, handstand pushups, and a few others).

    U don't listen Dude. NOBODY ridicules LWW for his training or lifting protocols. Not for a long while from what I've seen, anyway. It's what he types, and how he types. He says some crazy f'in off the wall $hit butt the thing is, when he puts it all together in a comprehensive articulate manner, he sometimes spouts some very insightful and thought provoking perspectives. It's a trip when it happens. Like seeing a rare bird, haha! He's got a uniquely wired mind. Prolly cuz his parents were hippies from what I recall. ANYWAYS Ya, OK, Give your props butt why attach that shame game play? We're fuking adults. We choose to be here for all kinds of reasons. So what. Ney sayers? Oh damn. Slam. Bang. Easily, redirected energy.

    And I wouldn't ask you to believe anything I regurgitate from google or anywhere. I'm not living in the make believe game. I'm just sharing what I find useful FWIW. Straight up.

    When he first talked about high rep squats, several people gave him the "good luck with your fitness goals pal" kind of response.

    When he talked about high rep deadlifts he was told by he'd be spinning his wheels by a couple of people and got a loud silence from many others (one notable exception was ID who I think said he had a really thick back and waist when he used to DL a lot).

    I never understood the he's squatting his deads comment a while back, and I actually thought "hmmm.. in that case so am I") but it was from several respected members so I kept quiet

    I'm not here to big-up LWW or blow smoke up his azz, but just for accuracy: amongst the banter and jokey arguments some people did ridicule his lifting strategy.

    I'm pleased it's working for him, and thank FK he stopped banging on about that FKN McDonald's window, so it all worked out well 🤣

    I disagree on this one. I have stepped in on quite a few of the discussions. I have also shared with him when I disagree with some of his ideas as well (respectfully). I look at it like this, at least he is making a dedicated effort an I can take the time to be helpful as many who have helped me in the past. I am also slightly envious as I miss those years when the idea of progress was indeed a reality with hard work and dedication.

    As to your point about topics other than training... I personally think it is just too easy to attack someone because maybe they are not the best writer. To me it is lazy and weak. Not all of us have perfect grammar. In fact, after my head injury and without the aid of a computer and spell check, I can barely write a sentence. You would think I had not made it out of 6th grade as I struggle to form even the most simple of words. I also have had the experience in life of being around all types of people. From high school drop outs to PHD's. I have found there is something to learn from everyone.

    I can love a good debate as much as the next guy, and I can be a huge prick when I want to. But I like to attack ideas, not people. The people end up in the crossfire at times of course. I have seen a persistent attack of the individual rather than taking the time to formulate any reasonable thought to dispute the ideas. And there has been some 'school yard' mentality about it. So I say my peace about it. And I KNOW 100% that the losers who continually lob the insults would never do so in real life. Hell I would not want to be caught in the death grip meat hooks of LWW with his DOH deads .

    Lots of people I would like to have a beer with from this place. LWW is one.

    Wish all you guys well....I am still training also, but been VERY distracted by cars and struggling to find fuel for the desire to get in and train. Only doing it now because I 'have' to. Hope to find the inner desire at some point. Till then, I will just fake it and force myself to go because I am stubborn.

    To be fair, most people who choose extremely high rep squats or DLs do tend to end up spinning their wheels (assuming they aren't particularly advanced already).

    But everyone's determination & effort level is different, and like I said earlier, if someone is happy with their own training/results/progress, no one else's opinion is particularly relevant unless that person is specifically asking for them.

    IMO that's different than putting others to shame though, but I don't really have skin in this game. I think a lot of this is just about attitude/personality differences, which is pretty normal for any online forum or social media discourse. If anything, these disagreements are far more diplomatic than what goes on in the regular Misc.

    I don't really care (I think) what other dudes are posting, prefer, or have an interest in. I used to a little bit some years ago perhaps. At least not to this of an extent. But appreciate finding ppl to chat with at times that have some sort of common interests.

    I could try go someplace else, but why really? This little corner is enough for me. Been here for about 10 years and don't remember this section ever being about lifting etc.

    My motivation for training has always been extremely on and off and is admittedly probably less than most. And that's ok with me – I find purpose in other things as well and don't feel I have to report in to other dudes on the internet, who I don't really know. Even though this post is bordering on it perhaps.

    I may be completely wrong, but thinking this may be less about about LWW or any lack of lifting in the old people misc, and more about a few wishing to remain big fish in a small pond. It just seems to me if this is so important, why not go post all flexing shots and lifts in the more "pro" sections or forums? Will you like the feedback from ppl equal or above you in certain respects or do you feel more comfortable posting those things in misc/old miscer sections? You probably have been outside of here plenty of times, but did just being average or less in those cases sit well with you? Or do you need this sub section for an ego boost?

    Anyways, I may be way off here and apologize if so and like someone else said would also love to have a beer with any of you dudes. No ho...

    But seriously its kool to see some of you guys come out of the woodworks and back him up. poor guy got so much **** from a lot of the guys here and I know most would not have spoken to him in that manner face to face. Tne internet brings out the worst in people especially haters and cowards.
