90s were good. 80s were better. I agree that this backwards looking nostalgia will end with the mid 2000s, no one is going to be pining for the 2010s.
Good thing is that everything is cyclical. In the mid 2000s when everything was 'ironic' i wasnt sure what would replace it and it turned out to be painfully self absorbed 'serious' people. Next cycle will be people who take nothing seriously or something like that.

We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

90's were just different. No phones, personal interaction was king, and you weren't constantly on social media. You listened to music, watched TV, played video games, spent more time outside.

I've always believed in a 20-year cycle. The nostalgia is always for two decades back. The numbers don't always work perfectly, but the 2000s felt like an 80s throwback. The 90s felt like the late 60s/70s. 2010s felt like 90s with all the political elements and progressiveness. The 80's felt like a 50s revival.

How do you think motherfukers felt after the end of the Renaissance? They felt like this. Quit your "every generation longs for the past" cope to yourself. Culture can get better & it can decline.Last edited by Strawng; 11-26-2022 at 12:46 PM.
