It isn’t any more affordable at all. Toronto equivalent would be nyc or LA. Beers here aren’t as bad looking at like 6-8 but 12+ in a club and 16 for mixed drinks at a club or party bar in the city.

Go to some podunk town in CA and it’s probably not much different

California is expensive everywhere, I had some meal at a chain in Arizona for $10, and the next day I got the same thing across the border in California and it was $15.

You can get 4 to 5 dollar beers almost anywhere in the US. Some overpriced club is gonna be overpriced regardless. Things are cheaper here overall, especially in middle America and even in big cities like Chicago, which is honestly a better comparison to Toronto than NYC.
