Why would I run a background check for a private party purchase if the gun is unregistered and I don't have to notify the government anyways?
And no, if you go to a gun store (FFL), they WILL be selling registered firearms as required by law, and also run a background check.

Wait sorry. I’m in Ca and get confused which laws are nation wide vs just here in Cali.
We have always registered handguns, but long guns didn’t have registration until relatively recently iirc. What is it nationwide? And what will change with universal background check

“A Firearms Transaction Record, or ATF Form 4473, is a six-page form prescribed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) required to be completed when a person proposes to purchase a firearm from a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder, such as a gun dealer.[1]”
“A Federal Firearms License (FFL) is a license in the United States that enables an individual or a company to engage in a business pertaining to the manufacture or importation of firearms and ammunition, or the interstate and intrastate sale of firearms. Holding an FFL to engage in certain such activities has been a legal requirement within the United States since the enactment of the Gun Control Act of 1968.”https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_decline

"UBC" means that every single new gun manufactured and sold after "UBC" passes, will necessarily be possessed by the person the government can track. The .gov goes to manufacturer who goes to distributor and to dealer, dealer has 4473, they know who it was sold to. That person either possesses it, or can point to the FFL they used to transfer it. If they cannot produce the gun or the 4473 at the FFL that transferred it out of their possession, they broke the law. And the .gov would use that.
Also, more and more 4473 are being done electronically, or old paper forms are being entered electronically, which means all that would have to be done, is run a gun's serial or a person's name, and all guns that were made after UBC passed OR were transferred at an FFL after UBC passed...those guns show in the system as owned...they are registered.
And many (most?) states do not currently have any involvement whatsoever in private firearm transactions.
Besides that, how in the actual fuk is it not an infringement to require federal permission and record keeping to acquire, buy, sell, transfer, etc, a gun? How the fuk is it not an infringement to require we pay for a bakcground check and federal government permission and registration for me to loan a gun to my neighbor?

We ate at the Seed to Table place in Naples while we were down. I would highly recommend it, one of the best steaks I’ve ever had and it’s an amazing atmosphere. Basically a high dollar grocery store with bars, bands, and food stands. You go to the meat counter and pick out a steak and take it to a counter down the aisle and pick out a side, tell them how to cook it, and then find a seat and they bring it to you when its done. Outstanding.
But anyways, a couple sat down at the same table we were at and they were straight from New York. The guy said he had one more year in his .gov job and he was retiring and moving down. Luckily he was very conservative and we had a good conversation. Gave me hope that there are just as many conservative people moving out of the ****holes as there are liberals and maybe they won’t fuk the voting that bad.

Yup, we are looking and trying to buy very close to Naples, and I've heard this exact story many times at this point. Sounds like I need to check that spot out.
I have actually been discussing this with the warden. I'm about to spend a third to a half million on a house sight unseen. No inspections, walk-through, not even seeing the lot in person. Could be right next to a pig farm for all we know. But we do have friends down there and a realtor taking walk-around videos for us.. If she's good with it I'm good with it. Just wanna get our little fatasses down to Florida again.Last edited by DualRectifier; 03-20-2021 at 01:56 PM.

the one's you posted have 18" (?) barrels. The 870-14 and Shockwave are 14" which doesn't allow a stock.
I used the Mesa Tactical adapter (which Rem used on the discontinued factory offering) and it would've required installing almost AR-height sights.
Spoiler!
Mounting a light forward enough to not interfere with hand placement had the light extend about 2" past the muzzle. Risk damage to light, and increased length nearly negates advantage of the shorter barrel.
Having to drill/tap the receiver or use saddle to accept RDS, or installing tall sights, and only have a 2" OAL seemed dumb when I could use an 18" 870 with bead sight and have an extra round capacity, for much cheaper.
If the brace/adapter FL_Z32 posted - though it's unaesthetic af - allows use of the bead, and I installed that Streamlight I might consider it worth it.☆ MissChill Appreciation Crew ☆ Owner ☆ Σ ☆

Well in your case if you absolutely need the forend with integrated light for minimalist setup then get it.
Only downside is if you have a loose grip you might bruise your index finger with the light recoiling back into your hand, which I have experienced on a different model. Don’t know about the streamlight one, and bruising obviously doesn’t matter much in a fight, but it’ll sap the fun out of shooting that gun and you’ll avoid it.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_decline

Today I burned through $270 worth of ammo...ouch.
The 510C worked terrific. Quick to zero for 50 yards. By noon the (outdoor) range was just as busy as it was pre-covid/BLM riots/election chaos. Must be a lot of shooters burning their stockpiled ammo, or they’re getting butt-raped by the online sellers.America First

Range trips work best with 1, maybe 2 guns. Dragging your whole collection out to the range means you aren't actually shooting anything.
This is a balance for me. I've got a couple of guns that I own "just to own them".
My 20" M16 -ish rifle is a good example of this. I shoot it pretty well, but I literally own it just to own it. It's pretty similar to my 1911. I shoot my Ruger 10/22 quite a bit. That's a great little rifle.Florida Crew as of 3/21

I can't even remember the last time I brought more than 2 guns to the range. Usually 1
