Again, as simple hindsight spectators, we can only make up scenarios in which we believe we would have behaved.

There is nothing we can say or do to prove that we would have behaved that way if we only had the information they had. We simply make it up after the fact.

That being said, here is my made up scenario (which is all any of us have)


They used a very minimum amount of force to quell a very minimum amount of threat. They did not pay it any more attention because they didn’t actually do anything harmful (in their minds).

Then another threat appears, so they deal with that.


We can all talk all this bull**** all day long, but none of us were there. We can’t say for fact what we would have done or not done. Disagreeing with that statement is lying. I am right here. No matter how amazing you think you are, you are only deciding your behavior after the fact, with the information.

This is the actual problem with police, on display for all to see.

It's a complete lie to say that cops are racist and that blacks are being hunted or any of that other bullchit that LeBron the giant baby was tweeting.

However, there is a truth that the police of today bear little resemblance to the police when I was a kid. Today's cops are flak-jacketed, up-armed, constantly under stress, and trained to treat normal citizens as threats. Black, white, yellow, green, whatever... at that moment, it didn't matter who you were, you were going to shoved to the ground there. Part of it is their training, part of it is the type of people attracted to that line of work, and part of it is the stress of the situation, but there is a real problem with modern policing and how they interact with the public and if that was the issue being addressed... I'd be on board with the non-violent protests. However, since it isn't, nothing is going to change for the better. I personally don't ever want to interact with the police for fear of escalation. I wouldn't call them even for mundane reasons because there is always a risk that they will escalate a situation to "life or death". The news is full of stories where a family members calls the police for help because their son or brother is suicidal and the cops show up in full tactical gear. Their first instinct seeing some guy holding a knife is to fill him full of lead. Even though the only danger he presented was to himself. Their police policies allow for that reaction, so they are never punished and the policies are never examined.

I've watched it happen. We've gone from cops who were Andy Griffith and Barney Fife, to cops who are Rambo and the Terminator.

Those cops who shoved that oldcel in the clip above were way out of line. It wasn't necessary. It wasn't justified. Then to act indifferent to what they'd done means they are NOT the type of people who should be working in law enforcement.

And I'm generally a pro-police, law and order kind of guy, but this stuff goes on too often out there and nobody puts a stop to it. Remember, when Hitler and his people gained power, they did it by first recruiting almost all of the police organizations to their cause/political party.
