right now if you play COD they have shadow ban mute, if you get muted enough you will be automatically muted to other people in the lobby and you won't even know you are muted automatically by the game

How is it something that can be turned off? This isn't just some parental control deal, this is for general censorship of online gaming banter/behavior in general. Even though I don't really play games online anymore, this should be concerning for anyone who does. Basically any aggressive speech or behavior will get players flagged and shadow banned or banned from the network entirely. About the only thing that downplays this is how it seems to be dependent upon VR tech, so it's more so just an example of how much worse censorship and control over user behavior is going to become if that tech becomes more standardized and mainstream.
