I just started Horizon FW to juggle with Eldens Ring. Game is legit outstanding so far and I’m barely in. Amazing graphics.

I can't play two big games at a time, it mixes up the mood/tone and I realise I was forgetting where I left off on the previous game because I just filled my head with stuff on the new game. Now if I could do it, it would be one game with a big story, juggled with a mindless action game like Hades or Doom Eternal. Rarely happens though.

I can't imagine playing FW and Elden Ring at the same time lol. Took my sweet time with FW. Now I'm taking a break with some linear games before I dive back into a big open world like ER.

I may start ER after my second run here with FF7 Remake. It's still a nice game but the issues I had with it are even more noticeable on this second run. There are indeed many mediocre segments that sorta drag on. I'm not a fan of so many cramped rooms and corridors in games. Definitely won't call it a masterpiece, my enjoyment is like a 6.5/10 so far.

I just started God of War on the PS5. Yes, I am late to the party.
For a PS4 game, this thing looks great. It just shows you how much the PS5 can upgrade the previous generation.

So I’m the opposite and typically enjoy playing 2 games over some time. So I’ll play a few hours one day then maybe 3 days later I’ll play the other. Typically it’s not 2 action rpgs like these but I’ve don’t it before especially with Switch games or even the UC series.

You're correct. Fortunately, I wasn't able to play a lot of these games on the PS4, so the first playthrough is getting the glorious PS5 treatment.

It’s the only game I’ll be buying that isn’t on switch in 2022.

I was on a 3 year dry streak then I drank last month. The pressures of Fox News, BBC and WON reports on what shape the nation is in really got to my head and I caved.

Forbidden West is easy goty candidate. I am halting ER to focus on FW because it is so much fun. I am several hours in and only 9% in. Game has that AC gameplay which I love.

I just reached Chainscrape, about 6 hours in (I do a lot of random exploring).
40fps VRR fidelity mode as seen in this game and Rift Apart is a fookin game changer. FW runs like it's at 60 frames, I can hardly tell the difference at times. The graphics are just pristine.

HDMI 2.0 can do VRR but capped at 1080p so what's the point? Yea get a HDMI 2.1 TV. A good budget option is a Q80A but if you can find a good deal on an LG C1 get that if you want OLED, otherwise the QN90A is also a very good option. Those are my recommendations. I might do a panning video of my tv later to show you how smooth it is

yea the supplied cable is 2.1 but is VRR enabled? You have to enable it both on PS5 and your TV. On the Samsung its in some obscure menu under advanced HDMI options.

Edit: When I said fidelity I meant to say balanced. There's performance which is 60fps unsure on res. Balanced which incorporates VRR and higher resolutions and graphics settings, then 'favour resolution' which is the most attractive option but I think is capped at 30fps although it feels smoother than that during play, maybe because it sticks to 30 whereas the PS4 30fps games I used to play would dip below that at times. The results depend a lot on how your TV handles the FPS changes though. Some are better than others. Balanced is what I use because I turn free aim off and favour resolution is a bit too jarring to aim properly

Aloy seems pretty asexual which is fine by me, not every story needs to have a romance. The person she seems to have some kinda feelings for though is Talanah

I just beat the first hunter challenge. Took so many attempts to do the one where you have to electrocute them and use environmental traps. Before I realised you can stealth it and pick apart the scroungers one at a time rather than rush in and get rekt by those deer ones.
I'm playing on Very Hard and it is just that. Never seem to have any surplus ammo, hardly any shards and some enemies are a 1 hit kill

the woman she was cloned from, Elisabet Sobeck, was a lesbian. So it's just a hint to maybe Aloy is one too.

I did my first playthrough in Very Hard as well, and did NG+ in Ultra Hard. All the hunter grounds I did in Very Hard and are defintely doable, but become significantly easier once you figure out how to do them. Keep at it.

Made me lol though, she says her goodbyes to Varl etc, but I wanted to go back immediately to do the prisoner sidequest and the Strike board. Like ayyyy we said bye to you just 5 minutes ago.

Think it's finally time for a new game again. My choices are Elden Ring, Returnal, Miles Morales, Persona 5 Royal.

Bro you're in for a fuking TREAT with the exploration. Hnnnngh. There are some places that will blow your mind right open. Do not skip the exploration aspect of this game....take your time and savor it.

Also...turn on object indication markers in settings. That way you don't have to keep pulsing your focus to find items. You will miss a ton without that setting enabled.

Pretty overwhelmed with the size of the map and the amount of stuff to do. Got the first tallneck and all the contracts for that kid who wants to build some armour. Gonna take weeks to 100% this game I can tell. Slowly levelling up though but it's pretty difficult at times.

Yeah mane there's a few QOL settings in the game that really help. Auto sprint is one of them, instead of always having to click L which kills your joysticks over time. Another one is disable pickup animations. And also easy loot.

Kid is part of a whole bunch of salvage shops all over the game who will need parts for armor. Culminates into a big side mission overall. This is what I did too, when I discovered a salvage spot or ruins or whatever, I tried to clear it out as I'm in the area. I remember being overwhelmed too but just take your time and you'll get used to it. Obviously I still haven't been to every single spot but I'm surprised how well I know the general areas in the map now.

Fuk brah I really want to play it again. Maybe drop back down to Very Hard this time on NG++. Ultra wasn't very difficult, and I think it's the actual mode that makes machines feel scary as they should be. They're extremely aggressive and have lots of HP but made it a bitch to upgrade my last couple weapons, especially due to not having easy loot in Ultra. So I may lower the difficulty to do my upgrades and actually feel kinda strong again
