Is this a ****ing troll bro? Honestly, if I never started gaming I probably wouldn't even start excercising, the motivation to get strong and break through my limits came in part from playing RPGs and ****. Hell, I wouldn't even have GOTTEN into the biomedical field if scifi games didn't show me all kinds of awesome possibilities like bioengineering humans to live forever and cybernetics and ****. I want to live until that's reality. I don't want to escape no reality, video games (and literature) made me WANT TO ENGAGE WITH REALITY IN THE FIRST PLACE. Because it showed me how bloody awesome it could be if we just stopped wanking and built a future not just worth living in, but one that rocks the universe. And people who say that can't be done, to me, are just like the people who say they can never get fit because [blah blah blah any bull**** reason you give yourself to not put in the work.]

I do play a video game to relieve stress, I think that it is hard for a teenager nowadays to maximize their time. They are so occupied by their gadgets that they forgot to have a social life.

I found my legit best friend in an MMO called Everquest when I was 16. He ended up moving down from Pittsburgh to Florida to be roommates with me when we were 19. Was a fuking blast. If I hadn't met my wife I'd still be living with him.
Still talk to him every damn day (Online and on messengers etc) and we are 34 now.

Legit spent over a year of my life online in Everquest over the course of 5 years. They were awesome years, no regrets.

I think social media has a bigger influence on kids than games, but games are starting to become a form of social media srs. Mobile phones are also a problem. I didn't have instant and constant access to chit when I was young/teenager.

I've personally known of at least 3 couples that met in online gaming. 2 met through world of warcraft and another from some FPS game.

It's weird, when I was a teenager I was super into video gaming, now that Im in my 20s, while I still play occasionally, games just dont seem to give the dopamine rush they used to.

I used to live for games. I tried the past couple years to get back into them, and nothing. Didn't matter if it was PC, PS, Xbox, or the Switch.

I spend as much of my free time as possible in the woods now.

and boring as phuck. When I was growing up, even the most epically awesome frothing at the mouth hyped game release got old after about 5 or 6 hours and i'd take a 24/48hours break from it...and that was at my peak of gaming.

All while holing myself up every weekend playing video games through high school, college, post grad, and currently.

Lots of health problems over the years...as well as failed relationships. Was once attractive with a cute girl and now just a average looking guy with a receding hairline. Struggling with women where I used to pull dimes in my prime and only 25 years old.

So, physical activity aside, explain to me exactly how face to face interaction...and sunlight are so superior? Is face to face interaction better than talking in voice coms with friends while playing a multiplayer game? Is sunlight really all that good for you? Cuz I've had 4-5 precancerous spots burned off b/c I probably got more sun than I should have as a kid. It just seems funny people are schitting on teens for playing videogames when in reality shooting a basketball for an hour a day is just as much of a waste of time. Especially if you aren't playing with other people apparently.

This is just an example of bad coping. Instead of doing productive things to get your life back on track you choose instead a rather mindless task that will not help you in your life goals whatsoever. Think of how much time you waste playing those 2 games and consider what that time would have done for you had you chose to apply yourself. You say that playing games helps, but it doesn't- you are distracted for the time you are playing the game, but when you are done you are still stuck with the unavoidable concerns about things going on in your life and instead of working towards your goals you just wasted however many hours playing the game and you are acutely aware of exactly what you just did.
