We had an 'evacuation drill' late yesterday afternoon. 700 kids quickly exited from the building and force marched around the neighborhood. I had one little one crying; "Where are we going?" I told him; "We're going to McDonalds!" That shut him up. Then he started crying again when he realized I lied!

I’m in charge of all our drills. ALICE drills are the ones that the kids are the most worried about.

I have junior high, so they are all over the place anyway.

It is no small endeavor! I guess we looked like ants pouring out of an ant hill. We had neighbors out on their front porches just staring in amazement. Yesterday was the 'perfect storm' all day long. My kids were off the wall! Then we hauled everybody out to trek around the neighborhood. That didn't help to calm things down. Ha! If I have another day like yesterday, I"M going to need some meds!

I'm old enough to remember the drills where we went in the hall and sat against the wall with our heads between our legs, preparing for a USSR missile attack. That attack never came though there were plenty of days I wish it would have so I could get out of math class !

I don't remember that but the apartment building I grew up in (Finland) had a bombshelter. Nobody's as scared of Russians as we are. It had a whole in the wall, and really steep ladders going down into darkness. Scary for me as a kid.
So now that I think about the, it was built in early seventies, and they built a bombshelter. How weird.

f*cking with kids during the formative years is fun but they're can be consequences for traumatizing them, and it won't be long before little billy is legally old enough to buy beer and a gun !

Brother, let me tell you. Administration just loves data! The more you can come up with, the better they like it. LOL At some point, all of that data ends up producing diminishing returns.

My best data is when High School graduates come back and visit us. Let’s me know that we (educators) probably got something right somewhere.
