Like what he said, You should take one foot foward (not too far though) enough where you can expand your chest in front of you and enable a good stretch of the pecs. Pec flies and crossovers are one of the simplest movements but are done incorrectly because people use too much weight putting strain on the delts and arms. Flies should be seen as an exercise where you exhaust the pecs and get a pump through high reps and low weight, thats why alot of flies are done towards the end of a workout.

you are using too much weight, you are not retracting your scapula while doing flys, you are just leaning forward to push more weight. one tip, dont put one foot in front of other, keep them together , pack shoulders back and down, and think about bringing elbows together. this way there will be no way you dont maximize chest recruitment

Keep a slight bend to elbows. Lean a tad bit forwards, keep feet together. You have two options, bring the cables cross the mid point of your chest, like peck deck. Or go from top to bottom. The point is to get a full stretch and peak contraction.
