Well yes, that's actually what I was trying to ask you about, but I suppose it is a topic of its own. Anyhoo my original point wasn't really to indicate that specific workouts or the more broad concept of 5x5 was ineffective, but just my own challenges as far as following through with that or really any programs that I'd take up due to reluctance or otherwise inadequate etiquette with exercises, or maybe rest and pacing.
At one point in recent past, I was doing 5 sets of 5 to progress significantly with incline DB press in particular, but I wasn't following a prescribed workout, just focusing on progressing all my chest exercises with a primary focus on that one in particular. If I felt warmup or proceeding accessory exercises were doing me wrong, then I toned them down a bit.
There were a handful of factors that I had developed leading up to that, but idunno, form and pacing were probably most important for me.
Same difference in my book, counselor.

The rant has been steadily declining each year for some time, but look at how drastic it's stalled since the last fantasy football post 12 months ago! Last match was on page 81, dec 26th, 2016!

That's some pretty socially regressive banter you're dishing out, Orlando1234977... You might be able to make a pass like that in your own household, but that kinda offsides mindset is pretty discriminatory. We try to tackle these personal fouls to make everybody feel inclusive.
Besides, I will be cooking my rib roast on a BBQ, and I don't even have a man cave.
Are you insinuating that your victories are too much for the Rant to handle?

Not a creature was stirring. Not even a mouse.
Spent nearly all of the day flying solo. Played guitar for about 4 hours.
Being absolutely truthful here — I've never been bored in my entire life. I always find something to do and I end up running out of time rather than sitting there counting down the hours. So I have to say I enjoyed it.

Anyways, so the X-Mas rib roast. I used the snake method on the Weber kettle w/ pecan wood blocks about 6 inches apart. It was a 2x1 row with briquettes stacked at about 45 degrees. Between the wood blocks, there would be a briquette on top of the 2x1. I set the snake up from 2 o'clock to 10 o'clock (maybe 3 to 9), and used about half of it, and the roast took about 200 minutes. The chamber thermometer that came with the kettle said that the cooking temp was 235 degrees, which is pretty cool considering I've never monitored the cooking temp.
Only problem is that when I put it in the oven at 450 to sear it, my brother insisted at the last minute that we leave it in longer so that it'd be safe for his kids to eat. While I've cooked a delicious roast on the kettle to 120 (w/ oven finish to sear it), I decided to go give or take 125 to make it easier to carve. At 124 he aired on the safe side, so I'm like no big deal really, but I wasn't gonna take it out at 126 like he was saying. Him crowding the oven, I told him it was at 127 and he said to let it cook a little more, to which point I started to make a scene about it as you do. Of course the 200 minute roast came out medium with browning towards the center, but was tender at parts.

M got one for her accident, Big Red went to the Audi yard in the sky back in June. She totaled a new J33P with red. She lawyered up. Dealing with goddamn MFing insurance companies blows goats!! I'm lawyering since the insurance co has been dicking me around over the $7000 worth of medical bills. See ya in court.
Yea, if I ever find the fukn assmuppet that painted that plate, his ass is mud. We're all good here, recovering from accidents and such. If he doesn't go on the offensive hunting business he's not much of an attorney in my book.
