rolex seriously running out of ideas

whats the point of a 43mm SD4K when the DSSD is 44mm?

Rolex "never" has new ideas - they stick to what they know and still sell watches hand over fist. Hell, Rolex purists were pissed when the Sub went from 2 lines on the face to 4 lines, and were even more pissed when Rolex switched to a ceramic bezel.

the rose gold yachtmaster on rubber

the ceramic stainless daytona

here you go. the strap is by RubberB. its different than the yachtmaster strap in that it cuffs/contours the edge of the case

I'm tempted to drop £8k on a Omega dark side of the moon, my only worry is depreciation.

For example, if in 2-3 years I fancy upgrading and want to sell the Omega to partially fund the upgrade, will it have retained a decent % of its original value, or would it have devalued significantly.

Nope, that gets a yuk from me. Rolex makes some great stuff, but also some really over the top cheesy chit. That one in the later catggory for me. If it screams "look at me I can afford this" I'm not interested personally. It's rare I find a gold watch attractive, and they are always in white gold (that watch in white gold is hmmmmmmmg) and some time rose gold. Yellow gold, not so much. This is a much nicer watch in my view for example in rose gold:

i love gold daytonas, but i think the only yellow gold watch i love is the solid yellow gold sub w/ blue dial

for daytonas i prefer white and rose gold on leather/rubber

yellow gold is definitely that kind of style. alot of people love the yellow gold look and prefer it to the rose gold look because its more "old school".
