Those things were part of the Old Law, for the purpose of protecting us from disease and death, to protect our physical health at a time when sanitation was unheard of on the Earth, as pork can be a very dangerous meat to eat if not prepared correctly. They were for our own good, but the Laws were not meant as legalistic restrictions on food, as if there is something unholy about pigs. The Old Laws were meant to serve Mankind, and not for Mankind to serve the Laws.


Deuteronomy 10:13

However, with the coming of the Messiah, it was explained that a Christian is free to eat whatever he/she wants, as we are now under the New Covenant.

I actually had to go and look up calvanism to see what was up.

Umm, Noah knew about the clean and the unclean, so it's NOT part of the "old law" (You're referring to the ceremonial law I hope, not God's Law). The ceremonial law (the mosaic law) was written on paper and kept outside of the ark, where's God's Law was written by God on stone and was kept inside the ark, there is a difference.

If you read the context of this verse, Jesus was referring to CEREMONIAL WASHING, He was not saying that we are free to eat the flesh of unclean animals.

The clean and the unclean are not Jewish; Noah knew about it, and he lived long before the Jews.

The death of Christ did not restore the planet to it's pre-fall state, the earth is still cursed by sin; pigs remain scavengers, and unclean. If you can't even give up pork, how will you give up your life for Him, when the time comes, when you will be forced to choose between obedience to God's Law, or the laws of men, the pontiff of Rome, the scarlet woman?

What this means is that you teach that sin has been abolished, because sin "is the transgression of the Law". If there is no Law, then there is no sin, and if there is no more sin, then there is no need for a savior.
