But why use logic? Your troll act is tired. Get some new material.

    This.

Kaepernick is actually trying to win the game. So what if Kaepernick and his esteemed contemporaries (such as Geno Smith, Ryan Fitzpatrick or Carson Palmer) throw a couple picks. At least they actually try to win games. I mean, so what if Alex Smith was a more winning QB than Kaepernick. Kaepernick is actually trying to win, Alex Smith just tries not to lose. I mean it's not Alex Smiths fault he doesn't take unnecessary risks. It's Jim Harbaughs fault for coaching a team that would go 13-3 as long as the QB wasn't retarded. Good thing Kaepernick tries to win games, hopefully this year the 9ers can go 16-0 instead of just locking up the number 1 seed like under Alex Smith.

What logic have you been using again? Oh yeah, just the same old "it's all Roman's fault" bull chit.

I wonder why Roman doesn't want to throw it as much. Until Kaep starts taking over games and becomes a much better passer, I refuse to consider him a Top-15 QB. Maybe he can shoulder a heavy passing style offense, but for now he is simply a mid-tier game managing QB.

If either of you actually came to argue using facts I'd be happy to address them.

All you guys have done is play make believe and what ifs with nothing of value behind those.

You already made you claims about big mental flaws in Kap's game and then couldn't even provide any which he still struggles with frequently.

Meanwhile you're busy sucking off Bridgewater after one game...

You're acting like the guy sucks. Big difference between someone not being top 15 and sucking.

I don't know where to begin here, man. The facts are there for everybody to see. Kaep simply has not been producing like a quality QB does. 200 yards/game is the definition of mediocre my friend. Even IF the scheme is holding him back, he still hasn't proved that he can be a QB that can take over games with his arm.

He's really fast and the threat of him running is real, though.

Never said he sucks, I'd like you to quote where I did. He's a top 15-20 QB for me, so a serviceable starter.

if a qb isn't producing at a probwol level within their first 2 or 3 seasons as a starter they'll likely never produce at a probowl level.

    http://www.footballperspective.com/h...-to-break-out/

the only exceptions are qb's on exceptionally bad teams like drew brees.

examples of this are basically every good qb under the sun. everyone from peyton manning to ron brady to joe montana.

but keep hoping kaepernick is going to be like rich gannon.

what? it's not even logic dude. i'm not making an if x then y argument. it's a statistical trend. you know like having sex increases chance of pregnancy. it's more likely someone gets pregnant while having sex but sometimes there are freak accidents like when a gay dude jacks off on a public toilet while reading men's fitness magazine and a virgin girl sits down on it right after like in the case of iamgenus's mother. now i'm sure kaepernick could be a statistical outlier like rich gannon but really how likely is that.

you'll be hardpressed to find a qb who takes the next big step in seasons 5 or 6. brilliant qbs show their brilliance within their first few seasons statistically. and it's actually 3 at MOST. you'll know if you had actually looked at some of the data in that link. oh and i'd argue that kaeps in his 3rd full season as a starter in the sense that he played 16 games in his first season, 19 games in his second and 4 or 5 this season. take tom brady, by his second season as a starter he had already dropped a 28td-14int season. you'll find almost every other qb "breaks out" in their first 3 seasons unless they are on a bad team.

you'll be hardpressed to find a qb who takes the next big step in seasons 5 or 6. brilliant qbs show their brilliance within their first few seasons statistically. and it's actually 3 at MOST. you'll know if you had actually looked at some of the data in that link. oh and i'd argue that kaeps in his 3rd full season as a starter in the sense that he played 16 games in his first season, 19 games in his second and 4 or 5 this season. take tom brady, by his second season as a starter he had already dropped a 28td-14int season. you'll find almost every other qb "breaks out" in their first 3 seasons unless they are on a bad team.
Christ you don't know when to just sulk away and avoid further embarrassment do you?

Your arguments about why Kap sucks and why Alex is better have been all over the place. At one point you used the logic that because Kap turned the ball over vs Seattle he's worse. Yet here you are rocking the Denver Broncos in your sig...yet the great Peyton Manning threw just as many picks vs that Defense and couldn't even muster scoring half the points Kaepernick put up IN Seattle...Using your logic Manning is worse than Smith as well.

Now back to this absurd idea that all QBs follow some sort of unbreakable trend...unless 20 things happen. I always enjoy trends that are recorded and then someone adds (except for the case of this and that and that or this) It's either a trend or not why are we making additions to it?

So let me ask you...what means "break out" season? Is there a rule I didn't know about which states what constitutes break out season?

You mention Brady's season of 28-14 as a breakout season. Kaepernick last year facing much tougher defenses than Brady did back then, with lesser offensive talent most of the year put up 21-8 TD-INT ratio. That's 7 TDs less and 6 INT less than Brady in his "breakout season"

Yet Brady that year had 601 passing attempts. Kaepernick had 416 last year. Any chance the nearly 200 attempt difference could've played a part in the lesser yardage/TD numbers? Couldn't be cuz Brady had a higher YPA with 6.3 YPA to Kap's 7.7 YPA.

Wait...is that how math works or is the higher number better?

Kap had a better QB rating than Brady in what you term Tom's breakout year. Not to mention the difference in coaching between the two. Harbaugh and Belichick couldn't be further apart in how they approach a game. Harbaugh constantly plays conservative football while BB will attack the whole game. Goes a long way to having better stats.

Also during Tom's breakout year he faced 4 teams who had a top 10 rated defense. Only one of them being in his division(Dolphins who also happened to be the only team rated top 5 or 10 in both points allowed or yards)
    He went 2-3 against them.

Kap faced 5 teams who had a top 10 rated defense. Two of those teams were in his division. 4 of those teams were rated top 10(3 in top 5) in yards allowed and points allowed. Seattle obviously being #1 in both. He went 4-3 against them.

So once again...what makes it a breakout season?

I understand you're too stupid to understand there's more to the game than stats but you'd be surprised how complex this game is. This isn't math. You can't say 5 is greater than 3 and therefore bigger and better.

Your argument is flawed because the guy you're saying is better than Kaep (Smith) finally made a pro bowl 8 years after being drafted. According to your argument, RG3 is better than Kaep because he made a pro bowl during his first 3 seasons.

About as convincing as any other potato post in here. Just sick of people ignorantly criticizing Kap and defending Alex without having actually watched them play (which is easy to tell by seeing their arguments for and against both guys). Posting stats isn't a convincing argument either because it doesn't take into account anything about the rest of the team or schemes/play calling.

It is pretty easy to see Kap is better than Alex and also gives any NFL team a better chance to win. Alex might be more mature and make safer decisions but I don't see how that makes him better. Alex was nowhere near as good as Kap at the early stage of his career either. It took him a long time to get to this point and even at this point Kap is better, and he has basically played a season and a half. I don't see how you can watch both players play and tell me Alex is better. And I watched all of Alex's game as a Niner and Kap's too. I watched a few of Alex's as a Chief and he is still the same guy. At his highest potential, and Kap isn't even there yet and is still better than Alex.

we're going to act like colin kaepernick doesnt have much superior offensive weapons compared to alex the 3rd goat qb in 9ers history?

alex throw more touchdowns in 3 games than kaepernick does in 6?

colin, completed over 60% of his passes once in the playoffs?

And kaepernick has basically only played a season and a half? Keep making excuses lmao. He had 13 starts his first year, 3 more in the playoffs, another 19 starts the year before and he's got another 5 this season. That puts him around 2 and a half seasons of starts and 4 training camps.

At this point, kaepernick has already demonstrated that he will never be elite.

Kap had a better QB rating than Brady in what you term Tom's breakout year. Not to mention the difference in coaching between the two. Goes a long way to having better stats.
