So, what you are saying is that you know for a fact a person outside of OP's house can always look right in and see his recliner?
And, furthermore, you are saying that nobody in the world, or at least the US, or at least CA, would ever break into a house when somebody is present?
Are you sure you want to make these claims?
Because they sound pretty stupid.

please tell me at least 1 is a pump.
IMO best home defense weapon
I also keep a CZ 40, colt 1911 gold cup, and a cobra AR-15 loaded in the house, but if i hear something at night, or my dog barks (he never barks for no reason) the first thing i do is grab my supernova tactical pump, and rack one into the chamber. I doubt there is even a single piece of sh!t scum bag on this planet that would break into your house that doesn't know the sound of a pump shotgun being loaded.-"Never give up on something you can't go a day without thinking about."

I'd bet that 99.9999% of home invasions are under the premise that nobody's home.
So OP's little common sense point was stupid from the jump because he assumes robbers are just retards who haphazardly break into any place without knowing anything about it.
In reality they usually watch the house, scope the area out, etc. not just point to a random house and go break in.
LMAO I'd say it's better odds that OP gets one or more of his guns stolen than anything else.

What makes a pump shotgun better than a semi auto?
The way I see it, it's less expensive, but that's it.
Pump:
More recoil
Slower follow up shots
Might short stroke it under stress
People talk about reliability, but, well, that comes down to the quality of semi auto that you buy. It's cheaper to make a reliable pump than a semi, but if you want the "best", you shouldn't be cheaping out on something that is only a few hundred bucks. Plus a lot of the time people do have reliability issues with a semi auto it's not just an inferior/less reliable shotgun to begin with, but low power ammunition. Using high brass defensive rounds in a quality, proven-reliable semi auto...that would absolutely be my preference if the choice was a pump or a semi (shotgun)

I have three boys and they don't play with my firearms. I have taught them at a very young age about firearm safety. They have helped me on numerous occasions take them apart and clean them. They have shot them numerous times. They know that they can kill. They know not to point a firearm in an unsafe direction. They know not to put their finger on the trigger unless they are going to shoot.
To my kids, firearms are not taboo. They have no desire to play with my firearms or their own (yes, they have their own rifles and shotguns). They won't even point a fake toy gun at anyone.

Damn, you got us. It is impossible for him to change how he does things if he has kids.
He already covered in kids come to visit. It's not something you need to concern yourself with.
You would be wrong.
No, that is not assumed.
Perhaps they usually do that.
And?
You think that means nobody ever breaks in when somebody is home?
That's what makes you wrong.
What odds are you giving?

Why not just say you are a collector OP?
or Gun connoisseur
Gun Smith
Gun enthusiast.
I think the "prepared" part is what alienates people who like guns from the rest of the people who like guns. Nice collection though crazyz
Do you WANT to use them? Would you be pretty pumped if shtf knowing you can arm a small militia?

think of this scenario. a habitual offender breaks in who doesnt give a chit about the police or going to jail. he even probably has an escape route so he can take everything he can in the amount of time it would take for the police to get there and then get the hell outta there. while your alarm is going off and the police getting notified and then making their way towards your house, youre on the couch wondering how many seconds you have left since you have no choice but to wait for people who have guns to arrive. how important is that alarm? how badly do you wish you had a weapon that could save your life and the lives of your kids since if there is an alarm going off theres a chance they could run out and check out wtf is wrong with that damn alarm. that is just one scenario, there are many MANY more.
OP never once said he wants to shoot anyone. I cant speak for him or anyone else but if i have no choice but to save my life or my family's i want to ATLEAST have the ability to say i can.SCC
