Looking back, its still an incredibly stupid phuckin' thing to do to your body. I mean, a tat would be one thing. If you get tired of a tat you can just get rid of it. The scarification however, is permanent.
He did say he was wanting it for 10 years. If there is something you want after 10 years then he's probably still satisfied with it. Also, its concealable. If he had to go into some professional setting he can just cover it up with a long sleeve shirt.
