After quite a few strike-outs, I located some powder locally. That little tiny overpriced shop I posted the used 'Noveske' rifle from was able to get 1 pound each of A1680, H110, and W296. $25 each, which is pricey, but, well, he can actually get it

Derail a train with a coin...LMAO.
You know what else a train demolishes if you put it on the tracks? Those rocks that are under the ties. And it doesn't even scratch the rail itself, just leaves chalk to brush off (though it takes a little effort to do so)
You know what my best buddy had a train hit without derailing or anything? A full size car. Seconds after he and his dad bailed.

My friend and I ran up to the back of a slow moving train once and jumped on the ladders of the last car. The train was accelerating...and much more quickly than we thought possible. It was going pretty fast not long after when we bailed. He wasn't able to hit the ground running, and ended up doing a tuck and roll deal. Those rocks are hard. Apparently it was rather painful. I laughed.
Trains are fun.

We did that the last time we were down there before we left on vacation. Couldn't find them. Went back the next day and looked again. Still couldn't find them.
Going to set a lot more on the track the next time.
My son really wants to see one of these. Hopefully we will get to find one eventually. He will love it.
Did you grow up in N FL? I used to live near some RR tracks and we spent every day on them. Had to walk on them to go fishing.
We used to set rows and rows of those rocks on the tracks for the train to crush. We would also throw those rocks at the trains. [YES BAD KID].

I'd be somewhat inclined to believe that a penny could conceivably get shot out from under a train wheel, but derail a train? GTFO.
In other news, Mrs. Ikeman's grandpa showed us some crazy pics from his tours in Vietnam. He also handed me this:
Still working on getting the tarnish (or whatever that is) off, but hopefully I'll be able to get it to shine with Freedom. Ironically, I can't find a ruler or tape measure that's metric, but it measures:
1" bullet diameter
3 1/8" bullet length at seal
5 5/16" case length
1 3/8" case diameter
8 1/2" overall lengthFlorida Crew as of 3/21
What part of "Shall Not Be Infringed" are you having trouble with?

Rejection is part of life and if you go around avoiding it, then you aren't going to realize everything this universe has to offer. The quick, sharp pain of rejection you feel is a very momentary fleeting feeling that will disappear. The pain of "what if", however, can last a life time

Not even close to FL. IN.
But our house was, oh, maybe 600 yards from tracks, and the little league field + soccer fields + just open grass for playing sports on were just on the other side of the tracks, with some trees/woods concealing a lot of the rails from view from either side (and no through streets, you could walk from our house to the fields much much faster than you could drive, as driving meant going miles). So we were on foot by the tracks all the time.
And my best friend who initially lived down the street moved when we were Freshman to the other side of town right by tracks and a small switchyard.
So lots of train experiences. Which was probably common for our town since that main line ran literally right through the middle of town, right by multiple fields (baseball, soccer, softball, etc), directly behind the middle school, adjacent to the track and football field, etc.Last edited by Farley1324; 01-06-2014 at 01:09 PM.

What's you guys's firearm purchase goals for 2014?
For me: Another AK and another plain jane carry handle AR. Other things I'd like to add but likely won't happen is another shotgun and/or another pistol.
Not sure how much of it I'll get to buy since my two main goals this year are 1. get another job and 2. buy a house.

Noveske 8.2" or AAC 9" 300 blk upper along with necessary lower parts to complete the rifle, and reloading tools and components necessary to churn out 300 blk.
And try to buy at least as much of my main cartridges (5.56, 9mm, .22lr) as I shoot, so that my stock doesn't dwindle away. I don't forsee any actual firearms purchases, except maybe some stripped lowers just 'cause, or maybe to make a pistol lower if I can afford the short upper prior to getting my stamp back.

Going to buy the wife her first pistol (and teach her to shoot it).
Also going to finish my poverty AR build.
We used to always laugh at the thought of those people in the dining car eating while we slammed rocks against their window while the train is zooming by. Can only imagine how many people we made mad.

Damn man, you already have (I THINK) the biggest arsenal behind Pro's. Adding all that will be crazy. I'm jelly.
This is seriously my number one goal for 2014. But I refuse to buy a home with this lousy, unstable job I have now. So a new job has to happen first.Last edited by R3L3NTL3SS; 01-06-2014 at 01:21 PM.
