they actually offer a nice complimentary education under certain circumstances. There are quite a few positions in a variety of fields that require knowledge of certain computer programs (not talking about internet browsers or ms office suite products). Most 4 year schools don't bother including these programs among their curriculum, at least not in depth. Largely because these various majors are being taught by faculty members that have been teaching long before computers became the norm. This is one of the biggest flaws with the current college system, too much archaic concept learning from books, which can be done by a person in their free time, as opposed to teaching real world information and techniques.
