Every Log is different. With this, I intend to post on the workout days. I have several projects which will be taking up much of my time (in fact, they've already started to do that) and so I will be posting most certainly on workout days, but outside of that, it's hard to say. Once again, I will mark the posts so readers can tell which is an actual Log post and which is grabassery. I will also re-measure everything at the end of the Log. Please note that due to time considerations, these posts will all be cross-posted and unaltered from the Designer Supplements Log I am finishing up now until that Log is concluded.
As is the case currently, I will not be posting diet numbers, though I will probably throw up weigh-in numbers from time to time. For the workout days, I will be posting the exercises and the weights used, excluding warm-up sets. I will just mention the exercise I used for warm-ups. I will also attempt to make commentary on the various methods (drop sets, super sets, et. al.) when I am using something beyond straight/static sets.
I'll tell you right up front, this log is probably going to get f u c k i n g crazy in the not too distant future. Basically, I'm going to take things as far as I can push them, go flat out for broke, basically. I'm winding down to the last month of my bulk and while I'm happy with progress so far, it can always be better. It WILL be better.
I will also be commenting periodically in my BodySpace BLOG, which I invite anyone to read who is interested in further dissertations from yours truly. As I mentioned elsewhere, I hereby dedicate the memory of this Log to V, The Regulator. Those who know who this is, know who this is. Those who don't, don't. Also, in commemoration of the previous 3 sentences, the one and only time I am going to do this in a Log (most likely), here is a video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=R8PEzzY_KrQ
Finally and most importantly, as always, thanks to all of you for joining me on this adventure.

Workout: Shoulders/Forearms
Exercises Used:
BB Cuban Half-Press/Rotations = 2 Warm-up sets, 1 Mid Warm-up set
High Cable Rear Delt Rows = 4 Work sets (250X6, 270,280X5, 290X4) {No rest}
Power Shrugs on Smith = 4 Work sets (195X12, 285X6,5, 245X8) {No rest}
1-Armed DB Side Raise = 2 Work sets (50X5) {No rest}
DB Lateral Raise = 2 Work sets (60sX5){No rest}
Standing DB Press = 3 Work sets (60X5, 65X3, 55X6) {No rest}
BB Cuban Half-Press/Rotations = 3 Work sets (65X5,4, BarX8) {No rest}
DB Wrist Curls = 3 Work sets (55,50X5, 40X6) {No rest} supersetted with
Cross-Hammers = 3 Work sets (55X4, 50X5, 40X10) {No rest}
Total Workout Time: Approx. 50 min.
Quality Level: Excellent. That was one of the best workouts in quite some time. Not only was I able to push the weights used higher again, but for the first 35 minutes, I had nearly boundless energy. I find this astounding (for reasons I will get to later), but more than that, this workout was a lot of fun, even though I was bloated and had some abdominal cramping the entire time. I noticed it, but it definitely did not slow me down in the least.
Observations From The Deck: Replenish commentary is taking a rest for today, other than me noting I have probably 2 workouts left for this Log and I will state emphatically that I am going to miss Replenish when it's over.
I also want to talk about the MAN Body Octane that I loaded with the ISS Satur8 Rush pre-workout today. Now, the Satur8 Rush by itself is a fantastic pre-workout supplement, but combining it with Body Octane creates a powerhose knockout. I only took one scoop of each and had the workout above, but remember, this is only one day removed from yesterday, when I was trying to function on about ZERO sleep the night before + crappy pre-workout caloric loading + the bloating/cramping issue. I can hardly wait until this weekend when I can take an amplified dosage of the Satur8 Rush with the Body Octane and see what happens. Strength was higher than it has been this workout, which is not unusual by itself, except it was a LOT more and again, the other factors. I'm very happy about this workout.
I am not so happy about Bone Boost. I'm not sold or convinced on cissus in the least and Bone Boost is making me somewhat unhappy from the jump. I may not have mentioned this, but I hate taking pills, as in I REALLY hate taking pills. When I was a kid, I had to crush everything up as I could not get myself to swallow them. While this made taking aspirin a real treat (didn't mind that as much as say Tylenol), I think it probably also colored my opinion of pills. I used to cycle off of multi-vitamins for a while because I just got tired of pills. One of the reasons I was so happy when the ZEUS Log was finally finished was that I could dump 6 pills a day. Imagine my horror when I discovered that the dosage for Bone Boost is 16 tabs a day. All I can say is that it better work like magic or I will probably find this so offensive SAN will be pushed to probably one of my very last choices...

Hard to say. Using Purple Wraath, which also has beta alanine, stepped up my workouts quite a lot. If the workout yesterday was any indication, they should be going right through the roof this weekend...the only sort of side issue is that I am necessarily taking the last week of this month and the first part of next month OFF (Feb 26th - Mar 02) to work on a project. I was a bit reluctant to even start this, knowing that I had that week scheduled OFF, but I have been waiting for two months to start the Body Octane Log and kept finding other things that were opportunities I did not want to let slip away first. Given that there is literally nothing else out there that I want to test more than this, I thought I should jump on this now, before something else comes along...

Years of following pill routines. I am happier when things are powdered, as they tend to work and taste better, but that is not always possible. I have a pretty set timing pattern concerning supplements and if I don't follow it, I can tell almost immediately that something is "off"...
Thanks for reminding me. I am going to make a post in my BodySpace which will list which Log is for which thing...I meant to do that last night, but forgot/ran out of time...Ongoing Journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=106420991

Not sure exactly. Prolly one of my long winded ramblings on about useless information that is floating around in my head in regards to glycolysis, CAC and me getting a question wrong on my anatomy spot test. I said 'Lateral Fossa of the Sacrum' then it hit me this morning at 3:00 am in bed, the correct answer was 'sacroiliac articulation'
Close enough for my liking *shrug*

you should make like a database of sorts...can group them into related categories so anyone looking for a particular type of supplement or a specific one can just find it on your list...pretty soon i think you should have every supplement available in the world reviewed

At one time I was trying...for the legal ones, anyway. I'm not going to comment on or review any of the illegal ones...
I don't think I'm going to make a database, per se, but I WILL definitely put them into groupings, as per your request. I think the biggest segment will be the energy drinks, just because they are the cheapest and easiest to obtain. I could really push that segment, actually, if I still cared, but too many of them are just too much sugar for me to bother with. I'm quite a bit happier now that I have become much more judicious and narrowed down my choices quite a lot with what I am willing to take. I still have quite a few reviews and mini-reviews to get to, but not sure when I will find the time to do them...I should actually start making the list now, though...Ongoing Journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=106420991

Workout: Chest/Arms
Exercises Used:
BB Flat Press = 3 Warm-up sets, 1 Mid Warm-up set
Decreasing Angle Incline Press on Smith = 4 Work sets (145X5,4,5,3) {No rest}
Dips = 3 Work sets (3,1,1)
Increasing Angle Incline Press on Smith = 4 Work sets (135X7,6,4,2) {No rest}
Fly Press = 3 Work sets (50sX10, 60sX4, 55sX6){No rest}
Crosslocks = 3 Work sets (70X8, 85X4, 55X10) {No rest}
Push-Downs = 4Work sets (140X8, 160X5, 180X2, 150X6) {No rest}
Preacher Curls w/EZ-Bar = 3 Work sets (105X3, 95X5, 85X6) {No rest}
Total Workout Time: Approx. 60 min.
Quality Level: Very Good. Bloating again and losing the night of sleep earlier has seemingly caught up to me. Was dead tired all day and though I came up briefly pre-workout, I couldn't ever seem to get a rhythm going. Lifts still slightly improved, but I wasn't entirely happy with things. I also need to find a new place to do dips. Trying to do them on the Hanging Knee/Leg Raise stand is very awkward and forces my Arms out of the picture before I'm able to work my Chest thoroughly...one thing I hate about being this tired is that I forget ****, even more than normal. For instance, I bought some food that I wanted to take pre-workout, in the hopes that it would be somewhat delayed and kick in about the time my energy usually flags, more or less around the 35 minute mark or, if it kicked in sooner, I could finish the workout before that became a problem. So, I got this food, which took the form of dried mangoes. Sadly, I completely forgot it today and given that the Satur8 Rush is only 14 calories and the Body Octane and Purple Wraath zero, once I ran out of what I loaded before hand (Yoplait Light yogurt, 1/4 cup of raw almonds and a 4Everfit shake), I was again dead in the water today...I have since moved the dried mangoes to where I can see it to remember it...
Observations From The Deck: One workout left for Replenish.
MAN Body Octane, in addition to working very well, has a phenomenal taste, mostly like de-carbonated Squirt soda. It does not tend to dissolve immediately, but is very adaptable. I have it both with protein shakes first thing in the morning and with the Satur8 Rush pre-workout on the days I use that. Very, very nice.
Auxiliary Intel: Machine's BodySpace updated. The bloating thing is really starting to get on my nerve. I have gone basically to more or less my cut diet with a few extra clean carbs and it is getting better, but very slowly. I can't wait until this **** moves out entirely as it's not very enjoyable, uncomfortable and is starting to adversely affect the workouts...
EDIT: Weigh-in tonight was 251. This puts me about 5 weeks ahead of the original schedule, if it holds...

Workout: Back
Exercises Used:
Lat Tower = 2 Warm-up sets, 2 Mid Warm-up sets
Yates Rows on EZ-Bar = 4 Work sets (245X5X2, 215X8X2) {Low rest}
Assisted Pull-Ups (+55) = 3 Work sets (OWX5, UX7, OSX3)
Bent-Over DB Rows, Head on Bench = 4 Work sets (70sX6, 80sX5, 70sX6, 80sX5) {No rest}
T-Bar BB Rows, +180 on pivot end = 4 Work sets (270X2X2, 250X4, 235X6)
Dunn Lat Pulls = 4 Work sets (115X5, 100X6, 85X8, 70X12) {Drops, no rest}
Total Workout Time: Approx. 65 min.
Quality Level: Excellent. Bloating is finally entirely gone, though I still have a bit of residual intenstinal cramping, though not enough to interfere. In fact, today the gears of war were not only turning, they were roaring, probably because I loaded 2 scoops of ISS Satur8 Rush + 1 scoop of Body Octane pre-workout. I have decided to post some goals for the rest of the bulk, though that will be posted in the Body Octane Log (or this one, if this is where you're reading this): http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=1554341
Observations From The Deck: Replenish is now officially gone. I had a about 3/4 of a scoop left, so this dosage is basically 2.5 scoops (lost some in the transition). That means there is one more actual Log post coming here, then the Closing Time post and Final Review and this will be officially wrapped up. I don't know when I will be doing those things, but it should be no later than Tuesday, more likely Monday. I don't want to color the measurements with Sunday's workout, so Closing Time, for sure, will be Monday at the earliest.
As for Body Octane, one of the things I like about it most is that it steps up Purple Wraath quite nicely. I don't know that it enhances post-workout recovery much, but it definitely helps out a great deal with recovery between exercises during the actual workout. I'm pretty happy with it as an addition so far.
Auxiliary Intel: I need to start bringing a degreaser to the gym with me. The calluses on my hands are not helping grip, but also whatever grease is on the bars is starting to really get on my nerves and the disinfectant sprays they have there seem to have soap in them, which definitely will not improve that element much.
I try not to comment on this much, but sometimes the morons that populate my gym start to really get on my nerves. For instance, today I happened to be re-racking the plates from doing the T-Bar BB Rows. This woman, instead of walking the 2 or 3 steps around some benches, waited until I had picked up a couple plates and walked off to put them on a stand before moving. Either she was staring at my ass (likely, in hindsight) or she was too stupid or lazy to just walk around the benches and just HAD to walk between the bar I was unloading and the DB rack. Actually, maybe that is even more likely than the ass thing or perhaps it was some combination. Either way, she almost got ran through doing that dumb ****. It amazes me how far beyond some people simple physics is...

Goal Post
Special Announcement
...Brought to you by the fine folks at:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/man/body.html
As previous mentioned, I've decided to set a few goals to attempt to meet by the end of the bulk. I have broken these down into muscle groups and exercises:
Back:
T-Bar BB Row ≥ 300 lbs.
Lat Tower = Entire Stack
Yates Row on EZ-Bar = 285
Chest:
DB Flat Press = 100s
Dips = 10 consecutive
Shoulders:
Shoulder Press Machine = Entire Stack
Rope Rear High Cable Delt Rows = Entire Stack
Arms:
Plate Pinch = 45s
Legs:
Seated Calf Raise = 270
Standing Calf Raise = 225
Deads = 405
Weighted Glute-Ham Raise = +45 plate
I think all of these are realistic. Some are also much closer than others, but I've tried to include everything. At the end of this Log, I will check back to see what made it and what did not, but if I hit one of these during the course of the workouts, I will note it then, also.Ongoing Journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=106420991

One of the biggest mistakes I find people make in training is not setting goals (the other big one being to not pay atttention or track them once set). I have not publicly listed mine in previous Logs, as those products were more to test for certain (or any) results, which I did on the way to various goals. One of those goals I have alluded to (which was the ending weight of 264 for the bulk), but aside from that, I have been careful not to pin myself down in these Logs to any set numbers.
Normally, when I set personal goals, I tend to set outlandish ones. I do NOT recommend people do that, unless they are very experienced in training as being that unrealistic can have some catastrophic results on the psyche, once those lofty goals are not realized. In this case, I tried to set more normal goals, that should be attainable with a certain amount of effort. The reason I did this is that I will not be able to devote as much focus on my gym activities until sometime much later this year (November at the earliest, if I am very fortunate) and since I cannot devote maximum effort or focus to training, I have to modify the goals downward to the realm of the more possible accordingly.
I STRONGLY recommend that people set reasonable goals that they will be able to meet through hard work and perseverance as it gives a good direction to the workouts and is very inspiring when you close in on that landmark.Ongoing Journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=106420991

Workout: Legs
Exercises Used:
Squats on Smith = 3 Warm-up sets
Leg Extensions = 4 Work sets (205X8, Machine MAX, listed at 250X5X3) {Low rest}
Glute-Ham Raises = 4 Work sets (6 reps, +25X5X2, +35X4) {Low rest}
Seated Calf Raises = 4 Work sets (250X10X4) {No rest}
Standing Calf Raises = 4 Work sets (205X10X4) {No rest}
Total Workout Time: Approx. 55 min.
Quality Level: Very Good. After the Calf work, I loaded up 405 for Deads, completely failing to fully realize the impact of not bringing along the degreaser, even though I posted it yesterday and had it sitting by my gym **** today. The combination of the slickness of the bar and the calluses on my Left Hand rendered this a pointless endeavor, which was quickly brought home to me. Had those factors not been in play, it's debatable if I could have done it anyway. Legs were hit pretty well today, but by then, I was out of energy and utterly devoid of any motivation to not only attempt any exercises, but to even be in the gym at all. Fortunately, attempting the Deads did a nice job of working my Forearms. In conjunction with my failed attempts at Deads + yesterday's work, I decided they were worked well enough and said to Hell with it. This may be rationalization, though. As I was thinking of doing Forearm Rolls and Plate Pinches, not only was there no interest, it actually had swung the other way in that I really did not want to be there at all, let alone train further.
Observations From The Deck: I was revved up pretty well going in, but apparently, I really underestimated the Back workout yesterday. Either that or constantly crawling under the dash of my roommate's Civic did a number on things, maybe both. Towards evening yesterday, I felt I was about ready to pass out and I slept the sleep of the dead last night and into this morning, probably a good 10+ hours. Back and Biceps were very slightly sore this morning, which is normal and about what I've come to expect from Replenish. Replenish is a very consistent product.
Since I no longer have any of the Replenish, I went with Re-Satur8 Orange Octane combined with 4Everfit's Orange Blast whey. Depending on how well this does, I may use it again or, more likely, start on the MyogenixAftershock.
Auxiliary Intel: As noted elsewhere, I will be taking this entire week OFF, returning to the gym Saturday March 03. Machine's BodySpace updated.
Also, I have compiled all of my Product Reviews into one thread, which is also categorized. That is the latest post in my BodyBLOG, if anyone is so inclined to read further.

You supp whore. Time to follow along, again.
