Is there really a difference between suicide grip and regular grip? Ive been benching with suicide grip for years and prefer it for pullups also.

Suicide grip is the thumb up with the fingers vs regular grip the thumb wrapped around bar?
I do an in between. I let my thumb half way support it but it's just there if i absolutely need it. It's what feels comfortable to me. That's what I suggest you use.The journey toward perfection is ALWAYS a path of successes AND failures.
NO REPS LEFT BEHIND!!!

Just practice the same motion and position you would do at an exercise where your body would move naturally. If it has to stretch to go further out than what feels natural then don't do that motion or position with weights.
Same way works with incline benchpress, only incline the bench to the position your arms can handle with no weights moving through the air without excess strain on your joints.
Picture what happens to a chicken leg when you pop it out of it's socket. You don't want that stuff happening do you??
