Despite the "training legs produces more test so your UB grows faster too" stuff being bull, I agree. Training legs is just a necessity. I went REAL hard on legs yesterday, did heavy squats going deep as fuk, after taking a week off lifting (due to being very busy and sorta plateau'ing on some exercises, thought deloading a week would be good), and I seriously haven't had this much muscle soreness in my life.
Right after the training my legs were so tired and sore I could barely walk, today I had so much soreness in my legs I still walked a bit funny. I haven't ever felt simultaneous soreness in EVERY muscle group under the waist prior to today, but right now they're all sore - glutes, quads, hams, calves, you name it.
I love the feeling you get after having trained legs. I don't really like training legs, but I love the feel after I've trained legs.

saw thread title and had to post.
Just take a look at some insane legs & imagine they're yours. Nobody else in your gym is going to have those huge hamhocks. My personal goal is to have massive, aesthetic legs.“Stay hungry, stay healthy, be a gentleman, believe strongly in yourself and go beyond limitations.”

I catch myself using my straps more and more.. I had a discussion today with the IFBB Pro Brooke Erickson as to if it's "assisted" using straps... My thoughts are that it's not assisted, you are still isolating the muscles you are training without using other muscles that shouldn't be involved anyway.. straps are essential for sure!

I actually wondered if it was cheating. I know I could do more weight if it could just hold onto the bar. I've never actually gotten to enough weight to need straps until now. I have a herniated disk so I'm pretty scared of deadlifts. But I put my fear away I managed 3 sets of 10 at 100 lbs on thursday. By the tenth rep the bar was at the tip of my fingers. My grip gave out before my body did. And my hand is paying today.

the difficulty of training legs is that to reach failure would mean that your legs would collapse. As compared to upper body where you could simply drop the dumbbells, you can't just fall down. Reaching that agonizing point of failure is an amazing feeling.

I used to hate doing leg days, I'd always just train my upper body, which was stupid because they probably need it the most! Now its my favorite workout, especially since I gain pretty fast in my legs and always surprise myself in the gym with how much I can actually push. I don't see any other girls doing deadlifts in the gym, haha!

I still on occasion hate leg days - it is so mentally and physically taxing, but I still go at it hell for leather because there is NO more satisfying feeling than walking away from that bar knowing you've had a personal battle with your own doubts and feared limitations, knowing that you've just about won that little battle.
Last week trained legs on Tuesday. Sunday was still sore and stiff. But it was leg day. I didnt want to go in. In fact, I REALLY didnt fancy elg day. But I went in, and ended up smashing my previous PB, and it felt awesome!"I'll do today what others won't so I can do tomorrow what others can't" - such a fitting quote for bodybuilding!

I too used to slack on legs or hit them hard for a few month then fall off. Or injure something broke toe, broke foot, broke ankle (used to race dirtbikes). Recently I found what work for me on legs and saw some results. Instantly got hooked again. Now I feel like I push harder on legs more than any other day and want it the most that day!!! Glad I saw this as its quads day for me in and hour!!!

Herniated disks and mobility issues have caused me nothing but issues in trying to work my legs. I do try to hit them hard...and hitting them hard is VERY hard. took me almost a year to even be able to try a 135 lb squat or dead by fixing hip flexors, glute/flexibility weakness and just bringing up the legs in general.
i had to first focus on stretching and things like bridges, then hip thrusters and focus on lower back strength.
i still mostly stick to things like pull throughs, leg curls, leg press and hack squats throwing in very light deads and bb squats at the end still. i hope someday i can bring them to the front but for now i like doing RDLs and rack pulls and focus on form and getting the muscles to fire correctly.
the past couple months I realized on hack squats I gotta get deeper and omfg this is bringing on so much more soreness it burns. this is also helping to fix the mobilty in my hips so its back to a plate on each side for now!
i got legs with my GVT routine...its gonna suck. lol!Used to be fat, now just fat with a lot of muscle.

only just started doing legs last week, before i have been on fat loss and just upper body mainly. was really almost scared to try legs till a friend of mine took me to the gym and took me through a legs session. i dont think i could go as far as to say i enjoy it yet, but im not skipping it anymore which is definitely a start!
after reading through this i am definitely pumped for my next one and hopefully will get that epic feeling your all enjoying and fall down the stairs to the locker room
