Hey brahs, coming home next month from a year long deployment out here in Afghanistan.
Obviously gonna be looking to get the latest and greatest Android w/ Verizon phone.
The Nexus looks nice, but what are peoples opinion on the HTC Edge that's supposed to be coming out March/April?

I may just get some cheap pay as you go phone, until that or another Quad-Core phone comes out.

right now on verizon the best way to go is lte nexus or rezound but at this point best to maby wait till late february 27th when the world mobile congress is thats where they show and announce all the new phones there is gonna be a lot of sick shiit to come out of that and then carriers soon to announce what they are getting

Andoroid brahs, can anyone recommend me a screen film/protector for my Galaxy S2? I think the screen will end up getting marred sooner or later if it keeps chillin' in my back jeans pocket.

Ideally, the touch sensitivity and screen visibilty will not be affected, or at least minimally so.

I got one for mine from the AT&T store where I bought it. Fits great and I have had no problems with the touch sensitivity or seeing stuff on it.

Get the steinheil screen protector, got the anti fingerprint version for my epic 4G touch and you can't even tell that there on

when you rooted your phone with custom rom/kernel and you want to switch to different ones...are you suppose to wipe your phone before doing so?

went into cwm and wiped user data but i still have the same custom rom/kernel i flashed before :s

Before switching to another ROM, you're supposed to wipe the old one in recovery.

I had the Verizon Samsung fascinate for years and it still is a great lightweight rooted phone.

I have upgraded but it still pretty much does what my newer one does, minus the keyboard.

It can be bought for $50 or $60 sometimes online and when rooted still does great things for an android phone.

Forums still exist giving new roms, updates, etc. for users even though Samsung has had the droid charge, stratosphere, and nexus following.

DO you know what fastboot is?
You don't need to see anything to get into fastboot. You just turn on your phone while holding down a series of buttons (depends on the phone)
install fastboot drivers
go into fastboot through cmd
run commands

ended up getting a evo 3d. half the price i woulda had to drop if i was buying a nexus or galaxy s2. so im pleased with it as my 1st smart phone

It's actually called a "QR Code", but look in the market for a QR code scanner.

Yo brahs, my original Motorola Android phone died and I think I have insurance on it. My brother's phone died awhile back and he got it replaced via insurance (still had to pay 100 bucks).

Any suggestions? I have no clue what to do here.

Having recently just got my phone'. Id hate for it to be lost/stolen without any chance of locating it.
Seeing as there are loads of these 'locate my droid' types of apps. which ones are best?

and what other things can i do to increase chances of getting it back?
can you make it so every pic/vid is uploaded to me? etc

I have an HTC Inspire and am looking to root it. What is the best way to go about this? I've googled it and have found a few different options. I'm looking to see what worked for you guys, and what you all recommend.
