I've been DJ'ing for about 3 years now. As a DJ the hunt for hot tracks is never ending. In this thread I will share my finds with the Misc. A few times a week I browse beatport, listen to mixes, browse youtube, check out blogs, and get suggested tracks from fellow DJ friends. Sometimes I will only find 1 or 2 tracks in a week, other times I'll find 10.
My tastes are very particular. I've made the journey from cheesy trance to electro to breaks to house and now I feel my tastes have matured. My current tastes are mostly represented by the Techno, Tech House, and Deep House genres. I really enjoy a driving bassline no matter what the genre. I also appreciate the 'less is more' approach.....achieving the same intensity and energy with less clutter/noise.
Anyway, here goes nothing.
For my first post I'll share some awesome intro tracks.....since its an intro post.
D.B.-Limit
genre: in between tech-house and house
main use: intro
fun fact: this track was only released on a very limited amount of vinyl
Eats Everything-Entrance Song
genre: driving deep house
main use: intro
label: Dirtybird
and my favorite...a classic.
Trentemoller-Moan (Radio Slave Vox Mix)
genre: slightly driving atmospheric tech house
main use: intro
sidenote: captivating vocals

I honestly haven't done a demo or recorded a mix in well over a year. I mix 5-6 times a week though, just don't record. I can upload a progressive set I did a while back if you'd like to check out how I mix.
My mixing style is usually long blends with precisely timed drops and bass swaps. My biggest focus is making the mix progress nicely. I like to start out with some tracks that really pull the listener in. The Eats Everything track above wouldn't be an example of what I'd use as an intro for well thought out set, but I would use it if I was playing a quick 30min set. The Radio Slave mix, however, is exactly the type of tracks I like to start off with. From there I gradually pull into a groove and then rack up the energy until I cap it off with a strong banger that everything has led up to. I then try to finish off with a beautiful track that ends things on a good note.

Wow. Sick track. Downloading right now to mix later.
Thats what I like to call a perpetual groove track. It features a rather simple groove but over the progression of the track the groove pulls the audience further and further in. If you were to just play a minute of that song it would be rather bland but the longer you play it the better it is.
My favorite example of this is probably this is probably the Enigma One track in my first post and this...
Joey Beltram-Slice 2010 (Joseph Capriati Remix)
genre: big room techno
main use: peak time dance floor filler
sidenote: perpetual groove

@Xenon89: Hell yeah man, Alan Fitzpatrick was one of my favorite producers a few months back. I really like heavy in your face techno but I don't really mix it because its rather 'unpractical' here in the US. To play that kind of music you have to be in a massive venue with a huge system. So although I love that sh*t I try to focus on deep house, tech house, and lighter techno.
Here's some stuff from that arena:
Erphun- A Drink With the Devil (Alan Fitzpatrick Hellraiser Mix)
genre: big room techno
main use: peak time
Moby-Lie Down in Darkness (Chris Liebing Remix)
genre: big room techno
main use: possible intro track
sidenote: sick vocals
Oh and check this out if you haven't seen it:
