There's an elderly guy across the street from me whose wife passed away like 10 years ago and ever since all he wants to do is die and join his wife....well he was really getting up there in age and wasnt able to do alot of stuff like he used to, so me and my wife would make him dinner, go grocery shopping for him, run errands etc...well i noticed his newspapers piled up on his door after returning from a weekend trip out of town. He gave me a key for emergencies so I let myself in and knew immediately he had died by the smell...death is such a unique smell you know it when you smell it...
He was in his bed and the look on his face is something I can't wipe from my mind...
Called his daughter (who didn't give a sh!t) and she asked if we can clean out his fridge cause she couldn't be bothered to come down for a few weeks...went into his kitchen and and mind=blown...all the stuff on his grocery list he had piles and PILES of...like stacks of the same stuff packed into his cupboards and fridge..
....he never needed groceries...he just wanted the company.
At least he's with his wife now.
Cliffs:
-elderly neighbor i took care of passed away
-his daughter doesnt care
-find piles of food that he would have us buy for him in kitchen
-realized he just wanted someone to talk to
-life is short, live now
UPDATE: Scanned pic of neighbor on page 6

Depressing as fuk - while waiting for the paramedics to come i was in his hallway looking at his pics of his life and this guy did ALOT...he was a pilot, spent time in the military, has a gang of family and grandkids...and here he is all alone in bed with no one in the world to give a ****..
.....man life is brutal sometimes.

Damn dude, that's wild. At least he had you and your wife before he passed to be friendly to him, help him out and give him a kind word when his daughter didn't care too.
OP, I love you man.....*opens arms*. Bring it in dude, bro's hug and hug deep."ERMUHGAWD Crew"

OP, it is unfortunate that he had passed on but in spirit he is with his wife and he will always be loved and remembered by his close ones. You did a very nice thing to look after him and provide him company in his later, somewhat darker years. May he rest in peace.
You did a wonderful thing OP and you deserve my reps. It is a shame he died alone, and life is brutal, that it is.
Again, may he rest in peace.▂ ▃ ▄ ▅ ▆ ▇ MEMBER OF THE UF GATOR AND USF BULL NATIONS ▇ ▆ ▅ ▄ ▃ ▂
