How do you rate the sleep efficiency feature? Does it provide any real world value or do you consier it just an uneccessary extra? Will rep anyone who provides me real insight. Ordered a bodybugg yesterday on sale for $142 and thinking about cancelling.....

It seems to know what portion of your sleep period you are actually asleep for, and subtracts the time you toss/turn, wake up, etc. The efficiency score is essentially the time asleep vs. awake for the time you're "laying down".

I've also noticed it doesn't seem to detect naps.

REM is the only part of the sleep cycle that I would care to even see data on (#/night), so that's just some food for thought. Other than that it sys that I wake up 20+ times per night for 3-30min at a time randomly, which I don't think is the case. So for the most part I'd also so it's purely an extra, not one of the main reasons I bought it personally.

Not Delta? I'd like to know that too.

Has anyone gotten questioned about the thing on their arm all day?

I have the Bodymedia Fit and I actually really like the sleep efficiency feature.

On nights where my efficiency is lower, I definitely feel more tired during the day.

The same is true in reverse as well. Pretty cool if you ask me.

I wear mine at work, where my coworkers are NOTORIOUS teasers, and nobody bothers me about it, if they've seen it at all which I doubt.

I see people looking at it when I go places. I've had friends tease me about it, asking if I'm on house arrest. A couple guys who talk to me at the gym have asked about it. People think it's cool when I tell them what it is.

Can you isolate a workout to see how much you've burned during that workout?

if yes, i'm curious to see how many calories you burn for an average mile run/jog. Does it equal to the saying that running 1 mile is approx 100 calories burned?

1 - yes. 2 - don't think it will say 1 mile = X kcal burned. You can see how many are burned over the period though.

They are both literally the SAME device made by the same company. The difference is that one offers a sleep feature and the other doesnt.

There are sliders you can set for a specific time and it will show what you burned during that time period. Here I've moved the slider to my workout + walking my dog around the park immediately afterwards. It shows I burned 855 calories for those 2 hours.

At lunchtime I burned 182 calories walking to the mall's food court. At 3PM I burned 94 calories walking around the block in 25 minutes. Keep in mind I would have burned 40 calories just sitting at my desk for those 25 minutes anyway.

Can't answer the question about how much it reports burning for jogging/running.

No problem at all. You don't have to apologize to me. Its just getting easy for me to see as I have had it a long time. Everyone is curious at first as to whether it works at all or not. Totally natural to be skeptical. I mean you see people gaining and it sets off a red flag. Believe me, if you saw or had seen the other thread, I was at a major cal deficit. Didn't even have enough sense to eat enough. These people in a 2k cal deficit weren't doing it as wrong as me.
