    this is getting embarrassing.

first of all, this is the contest prep section so the discussions here should obviously be under the assumption that we are referring to a PREP SITUATION, not offseason

second, an individuals metabolism has nothing to do w/ whether or not they should use structured refeeds or cheat meals. for f*ck sake, if you've got a faster metabolism, you have a larger refeed...slower metabolism=smaller refeed. neither situation warrants the use of all out cheat meals. controlled refeeds are just simply MORE EFFICIENT.

finally, i'm guessing NO, you have not achieved striated glutes...naturally or otherwise using cheat meals throughout prep......

'small' is a relative term. by the standards of enhanced bodybuilding many would in fact consider you....quite small.

but good luck w/ your bb'ing goals in 2011. we're all just here to learn and share. i only called out your posts b/c they were misinforming the OP, who is obviously preparing for a contest...NOT in the midst of a long offseason.

I was under the assumption that we were talking about a prep situation where you are getting ready for a contest. Thats how the conversation started.....with the OP preparing for a show. Off season can be a different story. I spend a good portion of the off season bloated like a whale.

    Wink

Thanks for all of your opinions and thoughts. My coach did tell me laughingly that I would in fact feel like this and that I should not "freak out" because he knows how meticulous I normaly am with my training and diet. I, however, being a hard head, freaked anyway, and indeed turned to you guys on the internet for other thoughts and suggestions. There is alot to be learned from eachother. We are a fraternity of people doing something that so few people can have the physical and mental strength to do and it is nice to hear from people who have been there, done that, especially when your having a "I messed myself up day"!!! He's been coaching for 30 years and is a former pro BB, I know he knows what he is doing, but again.. me the hard-head!

Lol I agree with every post you have made in this thread. Don't even try talking to these IIFYM guys about diet, training, cardio etc. It drives ms INSANE

First off I think you look more impressive than anyone here. Striated glutes or not. Your 5'11 224 8% bodyfat, people should come to YOU for advise rather than some 170lb 18 year old know it all. Lmao brb would I want to be some 170lb IIFYMer with abs? Or a 5'11 225 beast.......with abs ? Hmmm the decision is hard. Don't listen to these haters man, you know what your doing and that's why your bigger than all these guys here.

Sadly you have no flippin' clue what you're talking about, neither does Marek. Go read a book reading human physiology and anatomy.

Also, if I were to go on a ton of exogenous hormones, I too would be 50lbs heavier.

Also don't be talking crap about my physique. You were on stage at like 10% BF, what a joke. Quite funny how before you were PM'img me for advice regarding some nonsense carb up plan, and now you're saying this.

**** just got real!! Obviously a controlled refeed is more beneficial than a cheat during prep.

    you have some issues.

first off every thread i see you post in, you are either rude, sarcastic, disrecpectful or just plain mean. you act as if your word is the word of god, lol. you know what? Other people have opinions too, and if Marek believes that cheat meals are beneficial during contest prep that his damn opinion! and when the man is 225lbs at 8%bf ill value his opinion a hell of alot more than yours. who are you to come in here and say hes wrong, and act as if you and everything you say is right? also, what was so "crazy" about his metabolism comment? some people have faster or slower metabolisms than others, whats so hard to believe about that?

I loled at the aas comment. such ignorance, take all the drugs in the world, you still wont put on 50lbs

Low blow with the competition comment. you are 100% right, i was a joke on stage. I came second last in the juniors, only because the guy below me was at the same bf percentage but weighed 20lbs less than me, other than him i was DEAD last. but you know what? it was my first show, i did my own prep and i screwed up big time. but for those 12 weeks dieting i gave it everything i had, and i may not have been proud of how i looked on stage, but i was proud of myself for the effort i put into it. once i got off stage i promised myself that I would win my next show, and i am working on that now. We will see who looks better when im finished my cut(ill be sure to call you out and post pics). We'll be the same bf, yet ill have 30-40lbs on you. You have NOTHING on me, your lean, VERY lean. but just as you know ANYONE can loose bodyfat, and once i do, what sh*t will you be able to talk?

and i did NOT PM you in regards to a "carb up plan". no i pmed you because you said you were going to compete on November 27th in the OPA London show, so i messaged you to see if you were going to do it, so perhaps we could meet at the show. LMAO good choice not doing it. You would have been stomped on little man, and when some of the junoirs hit their front lat spread, their shadow would have engulfed you. I laughed at the fact you thought you could actually do well in a non drug tested show. you must think very highly of yourself. Well heres a hint: DONT. OH MY GOD! your 170lbs with abs! jesus ive never seen anyone that MASSIVE before, you gotta slow down brother, you dont want to be too big.

    1. Lyle ain't big, so his info must be crap. Sure would rather listen to a drugged up IFBB pro rite?

    2. Fast metabolism? Errr no. More like more LBM leads to higher intensity workouts, someone might have a higher TDEE due to their daily routine, better skeletal muscle insulin sensitivity and glucose utilization and uptake, better p-ratio.

    3. Assuming you will have 30-40 more lbs on me, you are using drugs

    4. As a natural, I don't expect to be any more than 185lbs shredded on stage, and that's being extremely generous and optimistic.

    5. Yeah you did PM me regarding carb ups.

    plz go

While I agree with what most of the people have said in this thread. A lot of you need to remember that there is a world outside "natural" bodybuilding. It is a different animal altogether......a completely different sport really (I'm in the process of figuring that out first hand right now ). I'm not saying a properly calculated re-feed isn't the right thing to do, but while dieting on chems there is a greater margin for error. So I understand what max is trying to say.

I didnt get the memo that under 170lbs is small .

I think it takes A LOT more effort to get lean than to get big. The trick in the offseason it to eat JUST enough to make gains without getting sloppy. If it were just about eating as much as possible Id be the happiest/biggest bodybuilder on the planet lol.

But back to the whole refeed vs. cheat. I think the only advantage a cheat might have over a refeed is a mental break but even then it can mess with your head making you feel like your setting yourself back, which is most likely the case depending on how far u took a cheat. The main reason why cheats arent the greatest idea is that people tend to choose "junk" foods for their cheat which are typically more calorie dense and on top of that consume them in high volumes. I dont care who u are, if your deep into prep and consume double or more your calorie intake it will be stored.

wow an old pic from 2009, my 2nd show lol my profile is open to all for plenty of other examples that show consistent progress is a right direction. one example that you posted doesnt represent it completely. good memories. learned alot from that prep...especially i needed MORE cardio and train my legs more, which i have implemented alot since fun show, good times oh and i added cheat meals since. back then, i had NONE. but atleast i placed 1st in my classes in that contest. came 2nd in overall
