The same exact thing happened to me man. I did better than most people expected me to though in a pretty tough district (same thing as a regional). Frankly, I'm still happy with how I did because I had to pull a few upsets to get there, but I cant believe I'm done with this sport. Its taught me and changed me so much, and to think I'll never wrestle another match is just... unbelievable. Its indescribable. I just cant believe I'll never get my hand raised again, even as I'm typing this. I feel like I'm in limbo.
Yea man its depressing. I lost 15 pounds and I'm sure my gains went down the toilet. Can't wait to hit the gym again and bring my lifts back up.
Also are there any Ohio wrestlers here?

been contemplating this sport for next year..
My lifts are looking something like- Squat-275(2) or 225(10) Bench-175(3) and deadlifts I've been keeping below 225 for form.
Is the weight to strength ratio there decent? The goal before summer ends is 165+ but if I don't reach that I wouldn't mind wrestling with what summers work does for me..

Last year as a freshman, I tore my rotator cuff during my third match of the season. I was pretty stoked after winning my first 2 matches, but during the third match I had the guy in a half (standing up) and swept his leg, we both landed on my arm and I heard a loud crunching sound. I stood up and then realized "Oh ****, I can't move my arm." Instead of stopping the match like a normal person, I continued wrestling. The match didn't last much longer... (took about 20 seconds to get pinned after that). I shook the dudes hand after the match, then went to his coach and shook his hand, etc etc. When I got to my coach, he was like "dude, wtf happened? you were up 6-2."
"I can't move my left arm"
"What do you mean?"
"Where's the sports medic?"
"****..."
I went to the sports medic after looking around for 20 minutes (couldn't find one, gave up, then found one) My arm was out of the socket the whole time. When I finally found her, she grabbed my arm, pulled out and then pushed in, and the crunching sound was back. It was as if someone was eating a friggin potato chip. She then proceeded to check my range of motion. As she was doing so, my shoulder came out of the socket again. One last time, she popped it back into place. I took the team bus home that night with an icepack taped to my shoulder.
I finally just got a bankart repair in April, four months after I dislocated it in December. I can now decline bench 165x2, squat 225 to parallel, and deadlift 265. My bench is the same as it was, but my other lifts are much better

If you don't eat your metabolism will slow down keeping your weight where it's at no matter how little you eat, figure out your daily calorie intake eat maintenance for a week then drop 200calories less then that the 2nd week and you should be able to start loosing weight. It's almost impossible to loose 10lbs during the season if your already at a low weight so alternate but unhealthy ways to loose weight before a match is taking diuretics(2-3 before match never NEVER on match day or day before), spitting in a bottle throughout the day, and not eating at all 2 days before the match can loose an easy 5-6lbs not eating but I'd advise against it since you'll be really low on energy match day unless you take a stim right before the match

What headgear would you guys recommend? Last year I just borrowed one from my coach all year, but it was really old so I'd like to get my own but don't know if certain ones are better.
Only gonna be my second year wrestling, but I didn't do too bad last year at 132 varsity so hoping I can improve on that++ Positive Crew ++

Do you guys notice that your lifts stall/decrease during the season, even in a caloric surplus?(Wrestling up at 195, no need to cut) Or am I just getting weaker? Currently stuck at 300 lbs for 3x5 squat and 200 lbs for bench 3x5. Really killing my buzz cuz I wanna hit 405 squat and 250 bench for 1RMs by May 30th at 190 lbs or less.
