My protein powder says "not intended for children under the age of 18" on it. Is it safe for teens to use?

Yes. It's just an age disclaimer.....unless it's explicitly marketed for "kids", it's not intended for under 18...no big deal. drink up!

Doesn't matter...protein is protein....some have extras, some have **** quality protein..
I just looked at the label on the jug from their website...nothing in it that will do any harm. In fact, it's a pretty plain protein @ 23g per, with the standard amino acids included.......i remain, he who remains to be...

It's just food after all .
But one solid advice for your upcoming years: always try to get your protein out of "real food" instead of supplements - this will teach you to eat properly and help to learn a lot about nutrition.

whey is just part of milk, bye-product of making cheese. 'little miss ... eating her curds and whey.'

Where did you get that pure protein powder? Publix? I've had that before lol. But yeah... As stated before... It is totally safe to have whey protein. You drink milk don't you? There is whey protein in that. Casein is safe as well... Also in milk.

At 13 you do not need a protein powder!
Eat well, drink your milk, eat some meat and start training. That is pretty much all there is to it."No man has the right to be an amatuer in the matter of physical training. A 13 years old taking supplements? No, that is just not correct.
Also, i NEED it because I work 10h everyday and do not have enough time to prepare meals and all.
Many of us really treat meal replaments and protein powders as meal replacements and protein powder if you get me."No man has the right to be an amatuer in the matter of physical training. Relax here bro, he's not asking about stimulants or growth hormones. Whey and Casein are the two proteins of which Milk is made of. Nothing wrong with drinking it if he needs extra calories. Whole-food sources may have more micro nutrients, but Whey is "safe" to drink at his age without a problem. We at the board aren't allowed to "encourage" those under 18 to purchase supplements, and I think that at this kid's age whole food may be better for his goals, but there is nothing innately wrong with Whey Protein for him.

Whey powder is just extracted milk proteins left over from the cheese making process with added flavor and mixing emulsifiers. It's fine for anyone just don't try to live off it.
