    Trying to stay healthy, keep gains with too much volume and conditioning..please help

    So for the football off-season I've been training alone, and taken up a power lifting style training, I love it. thanks to everyone in the section who helped me.

    I have to start lifting with my team though, and the whole reason I train solo is because the routine is horrible, I've shown it to a few of my Kenis. major friends and even a PHD and all said its way too much volume, and it has shown, after a few months, kids are getting weaker.. im not sure why maybe no juice?

    the routines basically ME every day...along with olympic lifts thrown in every day..
    his routine calls for 90% of 1 RM every day..
    Mon-ME lower
    Tues-ME uper
    Wed-ME lower
    -Thurs-ME upper
    Friday-ME lower

    the lifting takes place for an hour,
    then after that, we condition for 1 1/2 hours,
    then to agility drills for 1 1/2 more hours,
    everybody except me doesn't eat until 3-4 hours after lifting..

    What can i do so I dont overtrain without turning to something illegal? i'm only 17..
    I've worked hard for strength gains, please help

    Extremely. 5 days a week is WAY too much. Especially all back to back. No time to rest.

    Won't make any good gains from that.

    If i did that i probably couldn't play, I'm the strongest person on our varsity team, even though my numbers are pretty weak.. So any way i can help cope with this for a few weeks at a time?

    eat as much as you possibly can, and then some.

    if its only for a few weeks you'll be ok, you won't make much progress...but you'll be able to hold together.

    if its the whole off/pre season plus 2 a days....you'll lose some strength.

    thanks.. I try to avoid it as much as possible, but i have to go for these 2-3 weeks in summer, then a month off then during 3 weeks in august..

    our workout looks lke
    all done in 35-40 mins
    45-75 seconds of rest inbetween sets..

    Wow, thought it was just at the school where I teach but it seems the insanity is wide spread. I always ask my freshmen what kind of lifting they did during summer workouts and it's a real horror show.
