Hey guys, I am beginning to bulk. MY weight right now is 158/7 (up from 152 3 weeks ago). I was wondering if this is a good enough food intake, I never count dinner because it is impossible to put the exact proportions of what my mom makes into the app, but it is probably somewhere around 700 calories. . THank you.

First, you are 16 so tracking your food is not advised. Second, there isn't a fruit or veggie listed there. So to answer your question, no, it doesn't look good.

MyFitnessPal has been shown to shorten the d*ck length of anyone less than 18 years old and cause horrible acne... and AIDS..
I suggest you stop."When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

Bottom-line, YOU SHOULD NOT TRACK THIS STUFF.
Enjoy being a kid for fuk's sake... what you are doing on the computer on a forum on a friday when you could be out having fun with your friends?
When you're 16, you are still in the process of growing organs, bone, connective tissues, etc.... so it's NOT possible to estimate your energy needs.
That's why you shouldn't track: you're at a point where your 'needs' constantly are in flux.
Not to mention the mental hassle you could otherwise direct toward, I dunno, doing ANYTHING else?"When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

Personally I track nothing right now...
I'm 33 years old, I tracked almost non-stop for over a decade... if I didn't learn how to estimate accurately enough in 10+ years of every-day tracking well enough to make progress without having to calculate everything, I'd say I failed pretty hard.
Now that being said, plenty of people track and that's fine...
For me, it just becomes too distracting and I don't need to do it... I'd gone weeks without tracking and then tracked for a day and my 'guesses' are basically on point within like 5% anyway...
As long as I'm in a surplus, that's all I care about... I know what contains protein, fat, etc...
Now, if I were trying to diet for a show? That's different."When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

I hear you man, trust me. We never said not to eat big, we just said don't concern yourself over tracking and trying to "bulk" or "cut" focus on eating well balanced meals MOST the time but don't be afraid to incorporate foods you eat into your daily meals. Do this and work your butt off at the gym and you will put on mass.

Yes.
Get on a good, proven, linear-progression novice lifting program...
Eat to fuel your training and to enjoy life, foods that you really enjoy, especially ones with lots of solid nutrition, but of course choose things for taste as well; you're a kid, afterall.
If you find yourself hungry, eat.
If you find yourself not gaining weight or getting stronger, eat a bit more... keep making progress.
But don't let it overrun your life... just treat it as what it is: training, growing, etc. Hang with friends and study hard... that's all there is to it.
When you get out of high school, or you're 18-19 and you've already made your 'newbie' gains, then you can consider trying to dissect things with tracking when it'll actually yield some potential benefitLast edited by AdamWW; 08-03-2018 at 04:07 PM.
