Why do we say we're going to "go the whole nine yards" . . . when you need ten for a first down?????

there is a guy at the gym who is always struggling with his weight but openly states he is unwilling to change his diet. I got on the new cardio machines with TV's on them and he gets on the one next to me and points to the screen "I'm getting one of those" and an infomercial for the ab countour belt is on, its one of those belts that shocks your abs.
I told him it was a waste of money, but he is convinced it will work.

I once thought like that ( I even bought one like it once a long time ago) but he has been going to the gym for years and should know better.

This stuff kills me . . . why is it so hard for people to accept the fact that, yes, it's going to take EFFORT to get in shape?? If it was easy, everyone would look like a bodybuilder or athlete.

Why is it prune juice and not plum juice? ****, you've never heard of raisin juice right? Only grape juice.. Why dehydrate a plum and then try to extract juice from it? I'm so confused... I'm gonna commit Hara Kiri

it comes from the armorment compliment of a world war two fighter. The load the plane with 27feet of bullets, hence 9yards.So the whole 9 yards means emptying your guns into someone....ciao
