Returning 19 starters....incoming #1 recruiting class...clausen adds 17 lbs...anyone else pumped????
I predict 9-2 or 8-3 season going into a BCS Bowl...prolly just gator bowl since of our past history in blowing bowls.
B4 anyone cries about my prediction, take a look at the schedule, easiest schedule we've had in years, its finally on par with most other teams.
/enables flame suit for rush of incoming nd haters/
*srsly tho..lets keep this civil...leave out the "zomg nd is soo overrated" "your coach is fat" talk

X2.
But seriously, at this point the only way Notre Dame can go is up.
Here's my take:
San Diego St. - Win
Michigan - Win
at Michigan St. - Loss
Purdue - Loss
Stanford - Win
at UNC - Loss
at Washington - Win
Pitt - Loss
at Boston College - Win
at Navy - Win
Syracuse - Win
at USC - Enormous blowout loss.
7-5 and showing marked improvement. They're still too young, and they still have too many holes. I like either UNC or Washington to beat them, mainly because young teams like this usually don't travel well. They could conceivably go 9-3, though, if everything breaks right.Last edited by JamesGatz83; 06-26-2008 at 11:44 AM.

I was fortunate enough to see ND in person in South Bend last year (getting smoked by Air Force) and the team I saw on the field that day was flat out disgusting - one of the worst college football teams I've ever witnessed. While I think they will be much better (that won't be hard considering how horrible they've been) to say they will be 8-3 or 9-2 is clearly dilusional and stupid. They might get 6 wins, but anymore than that will be pure luck. I see a very low tier bowl game this year but they will be damn good in 09 and 10.

Haaaahahahahhahaha!!!
ND didn't even look like a college football team last year. It was comical to watch. I mean, teams have rebuilding years... that's a given. But a rebuilding/weak year should be 8-4 or 7-5.
You're going to get absolutely stomped by Michigan. You'll still lose to Washington and BC. Good chance you'll have another loss in there as well.
I'm guessing 4-7... 6-5 at best. They'll probably still give them a BCS bowl as long as they have a winning record.

It will be tough for Georgia. They definitely have one of the Top 2 teams going into the season, but as usual with the SEC, their schedule will be tough to overcome. Plus they've had 8 or 9 players in trouble during the off-season.
USC will beat the hell out of OSU and will likely get to the NC game if they don't blow it against an unranked team.
ND will be much better this year but still nothing special.

Not a hater here. STRONG Badger fan.. just stating my opinion.
Can you honestly say you think they'll be above .500 this year? regardless of 19 starters returning, I think talks of a BCS bowlgame are better left for the big leaguers.
Charlie Weiss is a joke of a coach and was practically laughed out of the NCAA last year.

i agree that bcs is unrealistic, but u have to be kidding me if u don't think they'll be above .500 this year. i'd say 7-5, 8-4 are realistic.
oh ok one bad season and he's a bad coach now???? what did he do his first two years then????? oh yeah he went to two bcs bowls
and yes players do make teams, wtf.

i dont think they were anywhere close as one of the worst teams. yes compared to the top conference and prestigious teams...they were one of the worst. but there 118 D-1a teams. there were tons of teams worse than them. other than army and navy, they lost to prestigious and top conference teams. but you put them up against the sun belt, WAC, conf USA, mountain west, MAC they would dominate those, ofcourse there would be a couple teams here and there that would take them. but they are no where near the worse. i dont even think they were in the top50 worst teams last year.

Darrin Walls (our best cornerback) wont be playing this year. He wont be enrolling at ND this year but is expected to be back next year (for personal reasons).
Luckily Lambert is back for year 5. McNeil got some pt last year....so Gary Gray the RSfrosh (#1 cb recruit 2 years ago) will have to step up big time, hopefully his shoulder has healed.

Notre Lame has played a weak schedule for several years and that's how they got into BCS games which they got destroyed in. They were decent two years ago, but played a ****ty schedule. They only remotely decent team they beat was Georgia Tech.
They play 1 good team this year and they will get destroyed. A couple of the other teams they play will be decent (Mich. St. and UNC), but expect Notre Lame to get embarrased by both.
And in a very short time, Charlie Fatass has become one of the most overrated coaches of all time. Notre Dames football program is a joke now. Lets see if Lardass is able to do anything worthwhile with his recruits that he's gotten the past couple of years. Hopefully he doesn't waste their talent.Last edited by danj112; 07-28-2008 at 03:11 PM.

Strength of Schedule means jack ****. It's not how many quality opponents you play, it's what your opponents winning percentage is. They played like half their games against Big Eleven teams who play in the worst conference out of the "Big 6", and then play the military teams, and then last year played Duke. And then play USC every year and when's the last time they beat them? Real strong schedules
And when's the last time they won a bowl game again?Home Gym Crew
