Couple things....will there be a new Voyager anytime soon?
Also, I can upgrade my ATT account soon, so I'm looking for the best phone/smartphone they have, though it must have a full qwerty keyboard. Any suggestions?Mountain Man #99 - killing bears and eating whole eggs

The Samsung Epix by AT&T
The Samsung Epix is a touch screen, quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA phone with Wi-Fi, GPS and 2MP camera. It runs on
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system and 624MHz processor.
First impressions of this phone aren't outstanding. It's physical appearance/layout looks very familiar to a Treo
or BlackBerry. However, the ordinarity of it stops there.
The Epix is one of the first phones to have a "touchpad", like a laptop computer, instead of the traditional
directional pad. This is an amazing feature that I instantly fell in love with. I never was a fan of BlackBerry's
trackball and was always stuck with either a d-pad or touch screen, and I can't imagine converting back after
having this phone for a few days. It's extremely responsive, and easily learned. You can use this feature in any
application, unlike BlackBerry's trackball. It gives the device a very "computer-like" feel, as you have a cusor
present at any time you choose. You, however, do not have to use this feature. The Epix is also a touch screen
device.
The Today screen is not unlike any other Windows Mobile 6.1 Today screen, however, Samsung has added some built in
features to the Epix. Such as an enlarged digital clock, and a type of list that resembles icons that you would
find on your desktop computer. These icons are completely customizable so again, adding to the "computer-like"
feel to this device.
Opera Mobile does not come pre installed to the Epix but is extremely important to download to this device. With a
full HTML web browser, and a cusor, the Epix is not easily outshined. Navigating the web is a breeze as you can
scroll/zoom with either your finger, a stylus, or the touch pad. Unlike most other Windows Mobile devices,
www.m.youtube.com does indeed work on Windows Media Player.
The 2.0 mega pixel camera is good but nothing special. Here is an example of a pic taken with it:
More review to come, this is just the first part of many...
Unfortunately I think I spoke to soon before when I said that this phone is better than the Pro. The Pro is pound for pound the best Windows Mobile device on the market. Sorry for the scare boyscouT, jk lol.

I LOVE it. I bought SPB Mobile Shell interface for $30.00 for it because Windows mobile interface sucks balls. Now its awesome. I can watch DVDs, have all my music on there, ebooks, etc. The camera is just amazing--and very easy to use. Theres only a couple of quirks with it that i'm not thrilled about. After running a few programs such as windows media, texting, photo viewer, etc, I have to go into the task manager and manually shut them down. But with the SBP shell I have the task manager saved as a quick link for one touch access, so no big deal. The other thing I just found out today was that call waiting sucks pretty bad. I can just barely hear the tone when another call is coming in. Again, not a big deal, but I use the call waiting frequently for work. It's got a steep learning curve, but worth it.
The real disappointment is the lack of support for the Omnia--especially with games. All the developers have been working furiously with the HTC Touch phones, so Omnia got left at the wayside. I downloaded asteroids and bowling, but there isn't much for the accelerometer like the Iphone. Overall I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10. And one more positive thing--it's not widespread in the US like the Iphone or blackjacks.

What? The use the exact same processor, the only difference is the TP has more ROM, but the Diamond has 4 gigs of internal memory. If you've ever used both, you would realize there is no noticeable difference in speed. In fact, if anything, the Diamond operates a bit faster because it utilizes DDR RAM, while the Pro does not.

It's just a much more ergonomic, windows mobile based user interface. The Touch Pro has the "touchflo," and the omnia had the widgets. Here's a link.
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/prod...nshots.html?en
It was worth the $30.00 because it makes my most used programs just a single touch away. Also, my 16 most commonly dialed numbers are just a single touch away as well--with or without picture ID. You can also get extra skins for free to spruce up the way it looks--in fact--you can have the Iphone interface if you want with the SPB program. Check it out on youtube. I tried it out for the heck of it--not bad at all. I was unaware that Verizon was releasing the Omnia. ATT is the only service provider in my area that works, so my only option for this phone was to go with an unlocked version. The whole purpose of getting it was the camera and GPS. Hopefully Santa brings me Garmin XT for Christmas-- I use the hell out of a GPS at work and with the Garmin I don't have to buy a data plan.

What specs? They use the exact same processor, they have the same amount of RAM, but the Diamond uses DDR RAM and the Pro does not. The only difference is the Pro has more ROM, which is not going to effect the speed of the phone.
Also, the Diamond has 4 gigs of internal storage. 4 gigs. I have a **** ton of apps on my mogul, and 2 30 minute MP3's with a 512mb SD card, and the card is only half full. IMO the Micro SD, or lack of a Micro SD slot is inconsequential, especially when you have 4 gigs of storage.*~=Gator Nation=~*
