    Age: 49
    Height: 6'0"
    Weight: 285 lbs
    Years of training: too many to count, about 25!
    Diet:40/40/20 Protein/Carbs/Fat
    Training: Weights on Tues, Thurs and Sat. Chest and back on Tues, legs on Thurs, and delts and arms on Sat.
    Cardio: Mon and Wed, 30 minutes of HIIT
    Current Supplements: I've really cut back, I'm only using a multivitamin, Xtend, and Ultra Peptide. That's it, no creatine, NO products, etc. Normally I use a bit more than this, but I kind of went to a back to the basics program, although some may argue that Xtend doesn't fit as a basic.

    I will try to keep the log updated at least three times per week.

    Day 1, Monday June 19, 2006

    I took 2 capsules of the Shred-XS with my breakfast. I did this because the instructions on the bottle state to take it with a meal. I was a little surprised by this as most fat burner/energy products are taken on an empty stomach. I took my second dose on an empty stomach at 4:00, 30 minutes before my cardio. I did 30 minutes of HIIT on the stationary bike, then finished by doing a few ab exercises.

    Millenium Sports asked the testers to report on specific questions. We don't have to address them in every post, but I will do my best to do so as long as they don't get to repetitive.

    Do you have more energy? I didn't notice much difference with the morning meal. I did feel a nice energy boost from the afternoon dose. Not a real hard increase, like I get with ephedrine or some other products, just a nice noticeable boost in energy.

    What type of energy? See above. I should have read the second question before answering the first!

    Increased sense of well being? No noticeable difference, but it's only the first day.

    Appetite suppression? Yes, there was a little appetite suppression.

    Thermogenic effect? It took about an hour after the afternoon dose, but I really seemed to feel quite warm, more than usual.

    Crashing? Do you hit the wall? I didn't notice any crashing, I didn't even notice when it wore off. It was a real slow decrease in energy.

    Compare to other fat burners you've tried. Too early to tell.

    Side effects? None yet!

    Total weight loss? None yet. Darn it, I want instant weight loss pills!

    Total body fat percentage lost? OK, these last two questions will probably wait until at least two weeks into the test.

    How do you feel about the product so far? Just peachy!

    If you've never read any of my logs I have sort of an odd sense of humor, so my answers may seem kind of stupid to some of you, but I think they're kind of funny.

    Day 2, Tuesday, June 20, 2006

    Tuesday is chest and back day. I took two capsules with my breakfast and two more at 4:00, about 30 minutes before training. This was going to be a tough test for the Shred-XS as I didn't sleep well on Monday night. I have problems once in a while with insomnia.

    Chest:
    Incline DB press: 8 reps x 75 lbs, 8 x 75, 7 x 80
    Incline DB flyes: 8 x 65, 8 x 65
    Flat DB press: 12 x 65, 11 x 65

    (I'm focusing on upper chest)

    Back:
    Supported T-bar rows: 8 x three 45 lb plates, 8 x 3 plates, 6 x 3 plates
    1 arm DB rows: 8 x 85, 7 x 85
    Pulldowns: 8 x 170, 8 x 170

    Traps:
    BB shrugs: 8 x 275, 8 x 275, 7 x 275

    Do you have more energy? Again I didn't notice much difference with the morning meal. I did get a nice energy boost from the afternoon dose.

    Increased sense of well being? Nothing noticeable.

    Appetite suppression? Yes, there was a little appetite suppression.

    Thermogenic effect? It took about an hour after the afternoon dose again. I may need to take the dose 45 to 60 minutes before training instead of 30 minutes.

    Crashing? Do you hit the wall? Pretty much the same as yesterday, no crash, just a slight tapering off.

    Day 3 - Wednesday, June 21, 2006

    Yes, it has been almost a week since I posted. Life got a little hectic, but I did manage to get my workouts in and maintain my Shred-XS regime, so here's my update:

    I took 2 capsules of the Shred-XS 30 minutes before my breakfast. I have noticed that I am starting to work up a good sweat after taking the product, so the thermogenic effect must be kicking in. I took my second dose on an empty stomach at 3:45, 45 minutes before my cardio. I did 30 minutes of HIIT on the stationary bike, then finished by doing a few ab exercises. I had decent energy throughout the workout and got a real good sweat going.

    Do you have more energy? I seem to have a little more energy, it's just kind of hard to define. It's definitely not a kick in the seat of the pants product, it is much more subtle. I notice that I have more energy, but couldn't tell you exactly when it kicked in.

    Increased sense of well being? I am starting to notice a slight increase in this area.

    Appetite suppression? There is still a little appetite suppression.

    Thermogenic effect? I definetly noticed the thermogenic effect today.

    Crashing? Do you hit the wall? I also noticed a slight amount of crashing today, but no hitting the wall.

    Compare to other fat burners you've tried. Nothing seems to compare yet and I have tried a lot of them.

    Side effects? None.

    Day 4, Thursday - June 22, 2006

    Today is legs day and I absolutely hate legs day. I always have. That's a quarter century of hating legs day. Have I emphasized this point enough?

    The main reason I hate legs day is that I can't seem to make them grow no matter what I try. I've tried low reps, high reps, straight sets, supersets, trisets, giant sets, you-name-it-I've-probably-tried-it sets. They are my most stubborn bodypart, with delts being the next most stubborn.

    It doesn't help that I tore up both of my knees playing football and have a bad lower back. These combine into no squatting for me. So, lots of leg presses, dumbell squats, lunges, etc.

    Quads:
    45 degree leg press: 8 reps x 8 plates per side, 8 x 8, 7 x 8
    DB squats: 8 reps x 75 lbs, 7 x 75
    DB step-ups: 12 reps x 60 lbs, 10 x 60

    Hamstrings:
    Lying leg curls: 7 x 75, 7 x 75, 7 x 75
    Seated leg curls: 15 x 150, 15 x 150

    Calves:
    Seated calf raise: 15 x 135, 15 x 135

    I took my first dose 30 minutes before breakfast, my second dose was 45 minutes before training.

    Do you have more energy? It wasn't as noticeable today, but I didn't sleep well last night, this certainly had some effect on my energy levels.

    Increased sense of well being? I am starting to notice a slight increase in this area.

    Appetite suppression? I am noticing more of a suppression effect.

    Thermogenic effect? I noticed a slight thermogenic effect today.

    Crashing? Do you hit the wall? No.

    Friday is an off day for me. I took my servings 30 minutes before breakfast and 30 minutes before lunch. I didn't notice a whole lot of effect today for some reason, probably because I wasn't training.

    Day 6, Saturday - June 24, 2006

    Saturday is delts and arms day. This is probably my favorite day, even though delts are my second most stubborn body part. I work out first thing in the morning on Saturdays on an empty stomach, so my first serving was 45 minutes before working out.

    Delts:
    DB overhead press: 8 reps x 65 lbs, 8 x 65, 7 x70
    DB lateral raises: 12 x 35, 11 x 35

    Triceps:
    Close grip bench press: 8 reps x 245 lbs, 7 x 245, 7 x 245
    Cable push downs: 10 x 70, 9 x 70

    Biceps:
    Seated alternate DB curls: 8 reps x 60 lbs, 8 x 60, 6 x 60
    Incline DB curls: 8 x 45, 6 x45

    I seemed to wear out a little near the end of the work out. I took my second dose of Shred-XS in the late afternoon, about 30 minutes before my third meal of the day.

    Do you have more energy? I didn't notice as much of an energy boost today for some reason.

    Increased sense of well being? This was still there.

    Appetite suppression? A big yes to this one. I went to a barbecue my friend was having Saturday night. He was making some ribs. I normally can easily eat a half slab of ribs and on a good day a whole slab. Well, trying not to be greedy and also bearing in mind that I need to lose some fat, I only took three ribs. I was so full after eating only three ribs that I wasn't interested in any thing else at all.

    Thermogenic effect? It wasn't as noticeable today.

    Sunday is an off day for me. I took two capsules 30 minutes before breakfast and 2 more 30 minutes before lunch. The most noticeable effect was the appetite suppression. I am satisfied eating less than I normally would, and that's pretty cool with me.

    Day 8, Monday - June 26, 2006

    Monday is cardio day. Two capsules 30 minutes before breakfast and two 45 minutes before cardio. I did 30 minutes of HIIT on the treadmill.

    I didn't feel the energy much at all and was actually kind of dragging throughout the day. I didn't notice much of a thermogenic effect either. I was slightly warmer, but not a whole lot. But, man, the appetite suppression is kicking in big time. I almost skipped lunch today, not because I was busy, but just because I wasn't interested in it. Trust me, this doesn't happen very often.

    Crashing? Do you hit the wall? I can't really call it crashing since my energy never did pick up. I was dragging all day. I'm not sure why, I thought I got enough sleep, but maybe not.

    I'm not sure what the weather is like in Cleveland but here in Washington it's HOT! I've been dragging more than normal and can't seem to get motivated until about 1/4 the way through my workout. I'm only like this in the heat for some reason.

    It looks like the appetite suppression is going great. If you are used to using stimulants or ephedra you most likely won't feel overly stimulated off of the Shred-XS. The Shred-XS really feels strongest (energy wise) when adrenal function isn't comprimised from other stims. Hence the adrenal support that was added.

    Thanks for the answer. I think I agree with you that the reason why I'm not feeling the Shred-XS is that I have used a lot of stimulants. I think I will cycle off the the stims for a while after finishing this log and give my adrenals a well desrved rest.

    Do you have more energy? I seemed to have a little more energy today. As Millenium 1 mentioned in his post it has been hot and humid in Cleveland, so I think this is partly whats draining me. I also have used a lot of stimulants in the past and he said that would reduce the effects I feel.

    Increased sense of well being? This is starting to pick up again. I may have just had a really bad day yesterday.

    Appetite suppression? The appetite suppression is still alive and kicking.

    Thermogenic effect? I did notice a slight thermogenic effect today.

    Crashing? Do you hit the wall? Not nearly as bad as yesterday, but I did crash a little.

    Increased sense of well being? It's very subtle, but I am feeling like I am getting more accomplished at work, which gives me an increased sense of well being. I know, some may not think it's cool to take pride in your work, but I always have and getting more done makes me happy.

    Appetite suppression? Still going strong. I am having to remind myself to eat.

    Thermogenic effect? I noticed a slight thermogenic effect today.

    Crashing? Do you hit the wall? No crashing today, just a nice steady energy.

    Day 13, Saturday - July 1, 2006

    Saturday is delts and arms day. I work out first thing in the morning on Saturdays on an empty stomach, so my first serving was 45 minutes before working out.

    Delts:
    DB overhead press: 7 reps x 70 lbs, 7 x 70, 7 x70
    DB lateral raises: 12 x 35, 12 x 35

    Triceps:
    Close grip bench press: 8 reps x 245 lbs, 8 x 245, 7 x 245
    Cable push downs: 10 x 70, 9 x 70

    Biceps:
    Seated alternate DB curls: 8 reps x 60 lbs, 8 x 60, 7 x 60
    Incline DB curls: 8 x 45, 8 x45

    My energy fared better today. Almost all of my exercises went up in weight or reps.

    Do you have more energy? I did today. I think it may have been helped by my getting a good night's sleep. I haven't found any stimulant that helps with out enough sleep.

    Increased sense of well being? This was still there.

    Appetite suppression? I haven't got to the point where I have to force myself to eat yet, but I am getting close. Food just doesn't hold as much interest for me right now. The appetite suppression is starting to get comparable to what I got from TTA.

    Thermogenic effect? It was slightly more noticeable today.

    Day 14, Sunday - July 2, 2006

    Sunday is an off day for me. I took 2 capsules 30 minutes before breakfast and lunch.

    I go to church about a half hour after breakfast. Guess when the largest thermogenic effect I've had to date kicks in? Right in the middle of service. I felt like everyone was staring at me as rivers of sweat started to pour down my face. Nothing like sweating profusely in church to make everyone wonder just what you had been up to during the week! I must have appeared to have been very guilty in some people's eyes!!!
