Gee, it almost seems like tying healthcare to your job isn't the greatest idea in the world.
If only we had something like Obamacare set up for just this kind of event.

Example: before the ACA my company gave free healthcare to all. Decent plan at no cost to any of their employees.
After the ACA, premiums skyrocketed and that isn’t an exaggeration. Mostly because of the wildly unnecessary mandates on minimum care. A company of less than 25 where 2 were female. Now we needed prenatal care covered, even if you were a man. We needed mental health covered along with rehab, despite the fact as truck drivers we are already beholden to some strict drug testing rules, the strictest in the nation.
What sense does that make?
The ACA should have literally been a Medicaid expansion, the protection of those with pre-existing conditions, maybe the NITT and Medicare surtax. That’s it.

Yesterday, Trump said that the government will cover the cost of Covid-19 treatment for uninsured health care workers.

OP, why don’t we live our everyday lives like some black swan, once in a century event could happen at any second?
Government should provide everyone with at home gyms. And internet. And food. And soap and shampoo. We should live our lives with the government 3D printing every possible item we might need and shipping them out to us every week in case things go bad.Horny.

"Do you think SHE actually felt like that was a sexual thing he was doing? She's like 6. Only an actual p3do would think that she thought he was groping her, too."
"Not that it's impossible to touch a minor inappropriately, but it is true that a 6 year old girl will not recognize someone putting a hand on their chest as groping, whether it is inappropriate or not."

I believe we're definitely another step closer to some sort of universal healthcare after this. What exactly that looks like will be up for debate but when it rains it pours. And people aren't going to want to be put in a position on whether they can float their rent, health insurance, food bill, etc. during the next pandemic. I think some sort of universal healthcare system will gain more traction with voters moving forward.

Gee OP, I didn't know that Obamacare was free! It's not like I tried to sign up for Obamacare 10 years ago and almost had a heart attack when I saw how high that monthly premium and deductible was. So high that you rather die than pay for it. I guess Harry Potter will say "ekspeliarmo" and make that payment magically go away when chit hits the fan like it did now, huh. And then that flying unicorn will all take us to Disneyland.
