RE Press
10" Log Clean & Press
*Clean Once
180 x 3
200 x 3
220 x 3
240 x 2, failed 3
*240 just took too much work to get the clean and the first two reps. A bit more split jerk practice with heavier weights and my goal of 270 is not far off.
CG Bench Press
185 + 50 Chain x 5
225 + 50 Chain x 5
245 + 50 Chain x 5
225 x 15
*Pretty pleased here. I am going to play around with the chain setup a bit to see what I like the best.
Goodwin Extensions
65 + Minis x 15 (3 sets)
Band Pressdown SS Lateral Raises
Light x 25/25 x 15 (3 sets)
Pretty happy with this training session. Just a bit more technique work with the log and I think I will be in a good spot to progress.

^ yeah Paul and I have some of the same taste in music. He's always playing stuff that's in my Spotify workout playlists...
I've never even seen those Goodwins before, but I'm going to be sure to try them. The best part about skulls is that stretch you get on the back of your tris on the long head. I bet the bands exponentially increase that effect.

Lil' Wayne is great. Turns out he is kinda literate and humble too (if you listen to Jim Rome). Pretty much everything I have is stuff that was out in highschool/college when I played a lot of basketball. No racist, but there is a certain genre that dominates the basketball court speakers.

Put the kids to sleep....deadlift to Too $hort.
I have thought about this. I may peruse iTunes soon so that I can get a few songs. Problem is, I only really like the first 30 seconds of most of them....cuz that is what I associate with bit jact/tan dudes walking out to pyrotechnics and smoke with loud a** music blaring.
Eat more, jog less, stick it to the man.

ME Squat
Squat
405 x 1
445 x 1
475 x 1
500 x 1
315 x 20
*Squatting felt terrible today. Form felt off, everything was forward, back was tight, yada, yada, yada....500 should have been faster and 1-2" lower, but it is a 35 lb PR. I made a deal with my self going into the day that if 500 was fast, we were going to push the weight up and my assistance work would be limited. If it was slow, I had to take another run at 315 x 20. Well, I wasn't quitting until blackout/failed rep....so I got it....but it f*cking sucked.
Also....thanks for saying "get him back in the ocean" Dan. Makes me feel great about my weight that I am so self conscious about.
GHR
4 sets of 3-5
*Did these much closer to properly. F*ck they were hard.
Overall, not a terrible day. Could have been better, but productive nonetheless. Went down to Fe to train with Dan and Greg. Brought one of my buddies from college (Kyle) over as he is looking to train somewhere a little more intense. I think he would be a good fit with Dan and Greg and hope that works out so that there may be two 500 lb benchers in Fe.

Congrats on the 500lbs but for me the 315x20 was way more impressive. Very nice work on both!

It did feel good to hit 500, but man everything just felt off. Either way, the train isn't stopping at 500, so it is nothing but a stepping stone anyways.
Metal sucks.
Thank you.
Don't encourage DanG. He later told me that his plan was to shove something in his pants to give the appearance of an erection whilst spotting the 500....so yeah, encouragement of his shenanigans is not needed.
Thank you....my quads/hamstrings are not so happy though.
Haha! Too deep in strongman!
Thanks Wade.Strongman Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=138026593

Don't go messing with the lifter now. If you bench with one....that would be more funny.
Nah....metal just sucks period.
Thanks sir.
I went to the campus surplus store today and snagged a set of "jerk stand" type attachments for a power rack. Just a couple arms that come off the front so you can fit a log or whatever on them....hopefully the fit my rack. If not, I paid $8 for them....so worth the chance.Strongman Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=138026593

Indeed. Will be betterer next time though.
Well....I am about to clock out of work until 1/2/13....I may be in here sporadically in that time, but not too often. I would like to wish everyone in here a Merry Christmas (or any other holiday you observe) and a Happy New Year.Strongman Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=138026593
