Anyone know what a good price for a Lamar LS513 adjustable bench is? Appears to be in good condition. I'm not familiar with the brand (bankrupted) but some searches reveal its rated for 700-100 lb, which is way more than I will be putting on it for quite some time.

I've see those fairly regular. I've seen them asking anywhere between 50-200, with 100 being typical.

I know I'm shooting myself in the foot here, these are practically in my backyard. Ivanko plates, labeled under 'standard 45lb plates' and apparently he has 6 of them. I shot him an offer of $150 for all of them, at first he refused, but then after some negotiating based on the condition he accepted and I never called him to pickup. I just cant justify the purchase right now, especially after two large purchases that my wife is already crawling up my @ss about. If you are close to Dayton Ohio, not a bad deal......

The Press Gym was located in Minnesota. There was one near you that others tried to intentionally ruin for someone... what was the guys name... was it "equipmentbrah". But that auction was not as completely ruined as the Press Gym auction. Some of the replies like the one that I quoted were just ridiculous.

You may just be better off posting deals in your local market going forward, minus auction sites.

My only issue is you now put up a billboard for the bottom feeding resellers whose only interest is making a buck. They dont want to use the equipment at all. Some of those scum will buy something to make a profit whereas there are other people who would really like to buy the equipment at a reasonable price...and keep it for the long term.

More than likely you just cut the legs off people who want the equipment for themselves...thats all.

In my opinion, the dealers that buy up everything wouldn't want any deals posted. They usually are the first to see the deals and usually the quickest to act.

Thank you kindly sir; i had no clue until you pointed that out. the few deals that i have made on CL i have been pretty lucky on. i am thinking of perhaps selling the bar now. i am just beginning to "collect" the pieces i need to have the essentials, so i am thinking of selling it and using the funds to help get a power rack or powerblocks ?

That would be a dumb move. Say you are able to get $150 for it... then what?

Buy a cheap pos bar that quivers like a bowl of jello with 185# on the bar?

Spend an additional $150 ($300 total) to buy a Rogue bar so you can be cool? (crossfit says Rogue = best ever brah)

Or use a pos bar while you check Craigslist 3x a day for 6 months until another good bar pops up cheap... only to have someone beat you to it?

It depends on who you ask. Here is the bottom line. There are regulars here that normally don't need the good deals pointed out. They are skilled enough and HUSTLE enough that they don't need someone telling them where the deals are. Me as well as all the other regulars search those pages every day multiple times a day.

Then you have the lurkers, who don't contribute one thing to the forum. These are the guys that we hate to see getting the good deal. Some random dude comes on here and posts up some awesome deals that a regular here already had his eyes on. Now the regular is competing with the lurker. I rarely post in this thread, but if I do it is normally stuff that I'm not interested in that is in my area. Another proper thing to do, is message people that you know that are in that area. If they have no interest, then share for others. We may not realize it but this craigslist thread probably gets more hits a day than Shyla Stylez pronhub page.

I don't think LSU had bad intentions but for some reason gym equipment will bring out the claws in folks, including myself.

Really??? It took all of 20 seconds to find a picture of that model, determine the model #, search the model # and find listed at several sites with listed prices.
