Imo, the real reason he's delaying the book is because he has writers block and he has no idea how to finish it.

His ego is just too big to apologize or explain himself to the readers.

I honestly don't believe the third book will be good. I think Rothfuss knows this as well. It'll probably get worse reviews than his first two books.

His plan is to keep profiting from the Kingkiller universe through these retarded board games, cards, props, the TV show, movie, etc for as long as he can.

That said, if/when book 3 does drop, I guarantee it'll still sell like crazy. He has a lot of pathetic fans that worship the ground he walks on.

When does it get better?
I just finished no 1 and I found it OK - but I just read that no 2 will be more or less the same, which I am not sure I will be able to endure.

I can't remember to be honest, but I know the ones I'm reading now are head and shoulders above the earlier ones.

I'd compare it to say something like the Jack Reacher series. Pretty much every book in that series is a good read, but they can all be picked up and read in any order. This kind of links in to previous events better than those types, whilst still remaining as good individual books. So I think I prefer these more.

I'd definitely say I enjoyed book 1 though. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to read on, but leaned towards yes. So if you were completely 'meh' about it I'd maybe not bother.

I think most people would say no, and that if you aren't digging it yet, you won't like the rest of book 2. However, to me book 2 was more exciting. There is 1 scene in particular that is absolutely epic.

Your choice if you want to keep reading. Popular opinion would be to drop it if you still aren't enjoying it

Only 150 pages or so into "The Way of Kings" but I'm already enjoying it more than Name of the Wind. I'm glad to hear Sanderson writes pretty quickly, unlike some other fat fuk lazy fantasy writers.

11/22/63 is excellent, one of the best books I've read this year.

Agree with 11/22/63 - one of the best books I've ever read, actually. Other King books that may or may not fall into fantasy category that you might like: Under the Dome and Mr. Mercedes really stick out in my mind as being excellent.

I couldn't get into Mistborn at all. He recently released a different Mistborn series though that takes place 1000 years after the first series. I might check this new series out.

I've heard this argument before where people think she doesn't actually sleep with the men.

But there's a scene in the second book where she's talking to a younger girl who wants to do what she does, and Denna tells her to try holding off sleeping with men for as long she can, but "eventually you'll get ridden".

Words of Radiance wasn't as out-of-the-park fantastic as Way of Kings imo (still good though). Warbreaker was good from Sanderson, if you haven't read Brent Weeks his Black Prism series is sick, maybe not as polished as Sanderson but likeable characters, epic twists and humorous dialogue/banter.
