10 years ago, Life Fitness sold "home use" products as well as "commercial" products. Their website was divided between the two. They bought Parabody and sold it as part of their "home use" line of products.

That bench is a "home use" bench. I wouldn't pay any more than $75 dollars tops... actually, I wouldn't buy it at all because I hate the sliding type adjustment mechanism. Although it's not a bad consumer level bench, the sliding type of adjustment makes it wobbly in the inclined positions. I had an identical Parabody bench that I sold for $75. Dealers will ask $100-150 but if they actually get it, it is probably because of the association of Life Fitness with commercial products.

I don't see why not. There's probably enough steel there, but the uprights are pretty short.

They went for $185, figuring in tax and auction surcharge. Still under .25/lb. Not too shabby.

Agree with the post below, you can get a lot more on the used market for that price. This is in CT, not sure where you are, around NYC there are TONS of items on CL all the time. The only real benefit to this package is it looks clean and matches, but priced high.

Used residential-grade seated calf machines are $40-$60 items in this area. Anybody listing one for higher will wind up sitting on it for a loooong time. I've sold three in the past couple years, and the most I've gotten for them is $75.

been watching CL for some time in my area with no luck, there was a really rusty piece that came up last week for 70, just looked for it and it is gone. Was thinking that at about 45% of retail should be able to flip for $150 when I am done.

Also have this Multisport that is an option for $80, but will have to get olympic adapters which will add another $30 to the cost.

I only paid $20 for the seated calf raise I have, I wouldn't expect to sell it for more than $40. Unless it's a commercial grade brand , these don't sell for much around here and even those don't sell fast. But every market is different and it depends on how much you want one.

It def depends on market. I live in the surrounding washington dc area. Here cheap china made plates go for .75 cents/lb all day long. Pretty frustrating. If you do happen on a deal where plates are around .50 cents/lb...they're gone almost instantly. Its a great market here to flip equipment, thats for sure.

I looked for a couple months in the NH/Boston for a seated calf and saw them going for $125 and up for a decent one; usually sold by a couple of resellers who place their CL ads regularly. One Sunday a standing calf with weight storage was posted for $125. I called immediately and said I'd be there with cash that afternoon. It's nice if you can be patient, be aware of your market and then be able to act fast.

I paid $150 for my BS seated calf, it was essentially brand new. I didn't want to spend that much but was OK with it at the end of the day. My market has essentially been monopolized by one flipper- commercial units listed at $250-300+.
