It's funny since Cyborg and Ronda both play well into each others strengths.
Cyborg with the forward movement and punching into close proximity with wild right hands etc giving Ronda the chance of a takedown.
Ronda happily greeting Cyborgs style of forward flurry with retarded combos hoping she can clinch and throw.
    Cyborg will take her.
Cyborg has gotten more crisp with her striking now and not as sloppy as before and with Ronda happy for Cyborg to come in close so she can try grapple with her it would be a pretty easy night for Cyborg tbh.

Also who are we kidding. Cyborg is just so unrelenting Ronda will just accept it and has to stand and trade with Cyborg to get the Clinch. Her **** head coach will do nothing. Will offer no advice. Even if he does Ronda cannot adjust. She has never ever done that before with past opponents because they offered nothing much besides Holly.
Rondas Ringcraft is horrible. Will never ever improve unless she moves camp. So i just see Cyborg doing what she usually does with the pressure and Ronda going toe to toe and getting chewed up on the feet and probably in the clinch. So basically **** Edmond.
Plus Dominic Cruz's commentary was one point this fight card.

I'm concerned with Guyborgs past steroid use. That was not a oops I got caught using once shame on me. If you look at her pictures from 2009 and of course now that shows steroid abuse. You do not look like that taking steroids casually. She has abused them so bad she is still getting rewards from it. Yeah, she is a good fighter but her new man body is giving her power she should not have.

True but her strength would have been more diminished now and she is paying for it heavily with the brutal weight cuts.

can anybody beat cyborg seriously? she just has so much power in those punches combined with unrelenting pressure that her opponents have no choice but to fold and crumble. Not to mention that she probably has a good 15 lbs of muscle over anybody she fights even though the fight's at 140-145. What do you guys think Cyborg weighs come in fight night?

I don't think Cyborg would make millions. She just isn't marketable to the general public. I don't know if she is genetically more masculine, or from all the "minute maid" use in the past, but she is carrying much more muscle than any other woman at the same body weight. There is no way to compete against her strength advantage. If she made Lina look like that, no one else is going to come close to beating her.

Roy Nelson's kick of John McCarthy at UFC Fight Night 95 could land him in Brazilian sports court

    http://mmajunkie.com/2016/09/roy-nel...-sports-court/

    By: Steven Marrocco | September 26, 2016 1:00 pm

The Brazilian commission overseeing this past Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 95 apparently won’t let Roy Nelson’s post-fight actions slide.

After Nelson vented his frustration with a stoppage win over Antonio Silva by kicking and then flipping off referee “Big” John McCarthy, the Comissao Atletica Brasileira de MMA, or CABMMA, announced the incident will be addressed by a Brazilian court.

CABMMA spokesperson Cristiano Sampaio claimed today that Nelson’s case will be taken up by the Superior Justice Court of Sport, which handles judicial questions pertaining to sports in Brazil.

“Even though CABMMA understands Roy Nelson’s ‘frustration’ in that situation due to his close relationship with his opponent, that does not justify his act and can open a serious and dangerous precedent in the sport,” Sampaio wrote in an email to MMAjunkie. “We, as the regulation body of MMA in Brazil and member of the Association of Boxing Commissions, will not tolerate such conduct.

“All the licensed professionals involved have to act accordingly, respecting the rules, commission, promoter and fans, where unsportsmanlike behavior will be subject to fines and suspensions.”

There is nothing in the Unified Rules of MMA that explicitly addresses aggressive contact with a referee, but it’s generally considered unsportsmanlike conduct. In June 2014, Jason High was suspended by the New Mexico State Athletic Commission for shoving a referee, prompting the UFC to release him from his contract.

MMAjunkie was not immediately able to reach Nelson (22-13 MMA, 9-9 UFC) or Silva (19-10-1 MMA, 3-7-1 UFC) for comment. At the post-event press conference for UFC Fight Night 95, which took place at Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia, Brazil, and aired live on FS1, “Big Country” claimed he pushed McCarthy with his foot and cursed because he thought the veteran official stopped him too late, causing Silva to take excess damage.

“It’s like a cop beating the (expletive) out of somebody,” Nelson said. “It’s like, dude, enough’s enough. It hurt my feelings.

“I apologized to ‘Big’ John, but I wouldn’t take it back. It just hurt me that I had to keep on hitting a guy that didn’t need to be hit.”

An email to the UFC’s VP of Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner wasn’t immediately returned.

Sampaio claimed the Superior Justice Court of Sport will handle Nelson’s case directly, though it’s not exactly clear how the process will play out. The spokesperson claimed several members of the court were watching the heavyweight fight and added, “CABMMA does not have to file a legal complaint; it’s (the court’s) duty to start an immediate investigation.” MMAjunkie wasn’t immediately able to verify whether a complaint against Nelson has been filed.

In the UFC’s home state of Nevada, disciplinary proceedings are initiated by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which oversees professional combat sports in the state. If a fighter is alleged to have broken the rules, the NSAC’s executive director works with the state’s attorney general office to draft a legal complaint against the fighter. The complaint is then presented at a hearing with the attorney general presenting the complaint to the commission, which decides whether to take action against the fighter.

For Nelson, the No. 15 ranked fighter in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA heavyweight rankings, the second-round TKO of Silva put him back in the win column after a decision loss to Derrick Lewis at UFC Fight Night 90 in July. Silva, meanwhile, dropped to 1-5 in his previous six outings.

A Legal Breakdown of the UFC’s Options Addressing Roy Nelson’s Referee Kick

    https://combatsportslaw.com/2016/09/...-referee-kick/
Posted: September 26, 2016 in Uncategorized

At UFC Fight Night 95 Roy Nelson unceremoniously kicked referee John McCarthy after a perceived late stoppage. This upset the heavyweight who believes he had to then inflict unnecessary damage on his opponent.

The UFC has previously expressed a zero tolerance stance on aggression towards referees when they cut Jason High after he pushed a referee with company president Dana White stating as follows:

“That Jason High kid got up and pushed a referee – he’s cut….I’m going to cut him…. You don’t ever, ever f——- touch a referee, ever. You’re done here. He’s been apologizing on Twitter, but he’s done.”

It is unclear why the UFC has not acted with equal swiftness against Nelson although issues of due process may explain inaction to date.

The UFC can take contractual action directly against Nelson for allegedly violating his promotional agreement with the company along with the UFC’s Fighter Conduct Policy.

Standard language in the UFC’s promotional agreements gives them broad language to terminate athletes who “materially breach, violate or are in default of any provision” of the contract. These provisions are broad and include the following requirements:

“Fighter shall conduct himself in accordance with commonly accepted standards of decency, social conventions and morals, and Fighter will not commit any act or become involved in any situation or occurrence or make any statement which will reflect negatively upon or bring disrepute, contempt, scandal, ridicule, or disdain to Fighter, the Identity of Fighter or any of Fighter’s Affiliates, Zuffa or any of its officers, managers, members, employees or agents. Fighter’s conduct shall not be such as to shock, insult or offend the public or any organized group therein, or reflect unfavorably upon an current or proposed arena, site hotel, sponsor or such sponsor’s advertising agency, or any network or station over which a Bout is to be broadcast.”

This requirement, as expanded by the UFC’s Fighter Conduct Policy, goes on to expressly prohibit “violent, threatening or harassing behavior“.

Nelson’s actions likely breach these previsions which provide the UFC with the unilateral ability to impose sanctions. The punishment options include “fines, suspension and secession of service“. The policy does spell out due process rights for athletes including an arbitration process.

If the UFC does take action Nelson can argue that if his conduct did not amount to a breach of regulatory requirements then his actions do not amount to a breach of this policy although this would be a hard sell. Nelson can also point to seeming inconsistent application of this policy with actions such as Fabricio Werdum kicking an opposing trainer failing to trigger UFC discipline.

Ultimately in-cage misconduct is best governed by Athletic Commissions who are tasked with overseeing the integrity of the sports they regulate. Once due process plays out with respect to any regulatory consequences the UFC would be on firmer ground to pull the trigger on in-house sanctions. The Brazilian Athletic Commission has been slow to take action with the regulatory saga apparently now playing out before Brazil’s Superior Justice Court of Sport. For everyone’s sake hopefully this conduct is addressed by the Brazilian Commission in a fair and transparent manner.

Dana White: Roy Nelson ‘needs to be buried’ for kicking Big John McCarthy
    http://www.mmafighting.com/2016/9/27...-john-mccarthy

    By Guilherme Cruz @guicruzzz Sep 27, 2016, 11:30a

Roy Nelson was upset at referee Big John McCarthy for not stopping his heavyweight bout with Antonio Silva when the Brazilian was knocked down, and kicked the referee moments after the fight was finally stopped Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 95. Despite Roy Nelson's apology after the event, UFC president Dana White is not happy with him.

Days after the UFC event in Brasilia, Brazil, White went on UFC Unfiltered podcast and criticized the longtime heavyweight veteran for his action.

"You can’t apologize for that," White said. "You don’t ever, ever put your f**king hands on a referee, or your feet, for any reason whatso f**king ever. You don’t do it. He needs to be buried. He went over there and he put his foot on his ass to like push him over, you know what I mean? Was flipping him off, yelling whatever. You wanna flip a ref off, there is never, ever a situation where you put your f**king hands on a referee. Ever. You can’t apologize for that."

White said the promotion will wait to see how the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) handles the situation, but Nelson "needs to be buried for that one." MMA Fighting spoke with CABMMA officials and was informed that the case will be handled by the newly formed MMA’s Superior Justice Court (STJDMMA), and a STJDMMA attorney told MMA Fighting that the court has seven days to decide whether or not a complaint will be filed against him. STJDMMA is examining the situation, but no decision has been made yet.

"I’ve been traveling since the fight so I haven’t seen what’s going on, but if the Brazilian athletic commission doesn’t reign on him, man, it’s not good," White said. "You don’t ever put your hands on a referee. I don’t care what the circumstances are, you don’t do. And listen, we don’t always agree with them, we have our favorites, we have our least favorites, [Steve] Mazzagatti, you know. The guy, no matter how good or whatever you feel about him, they are there for your safety. They are there to keep you safe. F**king, that dope isn’t the… you know what I mean?"

At the post-fight press conference, Nelson explained why he decided to kick the referee.

"I didn't want to hurt ‘Bigfoot' more than I had to," Nelson said. "And I got taken by the moment, because it's like I'm beating the sh*t out of somebody and you're like, dude, enough is enough. And for me, it hurt my feelings. And I apologize to Big John, but I wouldn't take it back. It just hurt me, that I've got to keep on hitting a guy that doesn't need to be hit.

"I knew I already knocked him out with my first punch, and then I got him one more time," he added. "In my head, it was like slow-mo, like I'm having a conversation with John going, ‘hey man, how is the weather over there?' That's what it felt like. I'm friends with ‘Bigfoot,' and he has a family. I don't need to keep on punching him in his face. And it's not one of those (things) like, if I hit him so hard that he fell flat on his face, I would've just walked off like Mark Hunt. But he fell on his back.

"It wasn't like [McCarthy] was so far away. He was over here to my side, and I know I had a conversation (with him). I'm like, he's out. He's like, ‘no he's not, keep on moving.' So for me, I feel like I'm giving ‘Bigfoot' extra damage, where he doesn't actually need to get hit that much."

Dana White doesn’t agree with his argument.

"This guy is the f**king judge of when a fight should or shouldn’t be stopped? You’re a fighter, you go until the referee tells you to stop. John McCarthy is very qualified in what he does, he’s been here a lot longer than f**king Roy Nelson has been. And for Roy Nelson to go over and put his f**king hands on a referee, it can’t happen. It can never happen. But John is sitting there in his knees, tending to Bigfoot, and you come up behind him and f**king kick him? It’s despicable, it’s disgusting, it can never f**king happen, ever again."
