Do you feel special now?

Ack!
I have a cooler full of beer and ice, but I can't drink anything yet.
My youngest went to a birthday party that ends at 9:00 and I have to go pick him up, and I won't drive after having even one beer, so I have to wait.
So what's up tonight, people?

well over 280lbs. i had given up with the scale
i was 285 (after losing a bit) late last year when i figured i needed to get a bit more serious and got back on the scale
I am 6"2" but was very weak in that picture. I have gained a lot of strength but need more and need to lose a lot more fat still. I am only posting that picture because i am feeling better about how I am looking, but not a ton better yet.
I am just feeling better with the gains (and losses) that i have made and it is easier to push myself a bit harder now. It seems odd that I just added squats recently, coincidence - who really knows but i have become a fan of mark ripptoe.

about tree fiddy
you mean what lifts or how much?
Not lifting heavy enough yet but working my way up. I am doing well on all lifts and making slow but stead progress on everything except for deads.
Shoulders have been a real problem too. I think it is because i never really worked them when i was younger. I also worked out quite a bit about 10 years ago (therapy for my blown back) and they told me never to lift more then 50lbs over my head for the rest of my life - so no military presses etc. I was probably in the best shape of my life then, aerobically, but was not able to lift much of anything over my head. I had a physical therapist for almost six months, It was like a pt that my insurance paid for.
don't like posting my lifts since they are not where i want them, a bit shy that way believe it or not. a ego thing i guess.

I know what you are saying but i am happy as long as i keep adding weight and or repps every week and i have been able to do that since i got serious in december.
been feeling stronger lately and i have been tring to figure out why. increase in cardio, adding deads or just the combo of a steady program starting to pay off. Either way i have been feeling really good the past couple of weeks so i hope i can keep the feeling going.

Start a journal. Then you'll see massive improvement.
I can't tell you how many times I've gotten that last rep or done one more set just because I knew I had to come back here and post it up.
If you're not journaling, you're missing out on the biggest thing this site has to offer.

I'm the same way with every workout. Good or bad, I keep posting. Sometimes, I think I just can't do another rep, and then I say "Do it. You don't want to embarass yourself by only posting X number of reps." I guess it's about accountability for me. Today's workout was abysmal. But I came home and posted it anyhow. Perhaps that in itself was an exercise - in character. I know it was darned hard.

How I wish I had started a journal back in January. I started near the end of March. Makes such a difference. Some days, I look at a machine and think, "Ah, I guess I'll do X lbs." Then I look at my journal and see what I did the last time and I'm way off!
We train with our neighbour, and we've been telling him to get a journal. He finally started one about a month ago, and he's now wishing he'd started one back in January too! He loves it. And he's made such gains since he started. No drama: You know where we are.

If I nap, 10 or 15 minutes is the limit. If I catch a brief 10-minute nap on the bus or commuter train, I'm good to go. But if I actually crash for an hour, I wake up drowsy and stay drowsy the rest of the day.
Odd, because I need sleep. I cannot function on less than 6.5 hours sleep. Ideally, I need 7 or 8.No drama: You know where we are.

I don't think I've ever met anyone who is so much my polar opposite yet I respect so much.
Cheers.

You're right, but I'm an insomniac. I can't even sleep at night when I'm dead tired.
And I won't be dead when I'm dead. Not gonna happen.
