68 Charger, still a work in progress but it drives. 440 in it now, will eventually rebuild the original 383 and put it in there and hopefully get the 440 in another Mopar when I get the monies. Just bought a disc conversion kit and will hopefully get it installed this weekend.

Was on my way to a town (1 hour there, 1 hour back) for a ticket then would be headed to another town (2 hours there, 1 hour back to my home office). I was in 5th gear, going about 75 when all the sudden the car makes this weird noise. I immediately push the clutch in and put the car in neutral and coast to the side of the road. I shut the car off. Get out, look for maybe oil or thought maybe the clutch shattered but there was no visible damage to the bell housing or the rest of the car. I start it up and it idles fine. Start to drive it again. 1st, 2nd, then 3rd and it wouldn’t go in to 4th, skipped to 5th and it went about 20 feet before the transmission completely locked up and I went for a ride. Pushed the car to the side of the road again and I sat there until about 2 o clock for the tow truck. Transmission is gone. I bought another one last night. Will have it put in some time this week hopefully. Thank goodness I had a little extra cash saved. Hopefully this car will last until the first of the year so I can trade it in on a new 5.0 Mustang!
