I was thinking though…the ones that I really want to applaud are the ladies who are so seriously out of shape and still wear the skimpy clothes…because they just don't give a crap and I admire that. I eat one slice of bread too many and it's big shirts and baggy pants for me for at least 48 hrs :P

I just want to know what gym lets you guys work out in sports bras. Every gym I've been to has a shirt rule. I'd totally rock a sports bra if I were allowed. Well, I would during cutting season...

Honestly, I haven't been to one gym yet that had a shirt rule that restricted me from wearing a sports bra. I even went to Planet Fitness for a few years and had no issues there. The main gym I go to doesn't care in the slightest...and I've been to a few different ones on vacation and none of them had any issues. I would ended up finding a new gym if they told me I had to cover up my sports bra.
Only time I workout wearing more is if the gym is completely freezing or when I train Jiu Jitsu. I would love to only wear a sports bra but unfortunately it is too easy for the bra to shift and leave one exposed. Don't have enough up top to keep it in place. Not sure if I'm just on overly high alert because it keeps happening, or if I'm being mistaken for a guy on this site for the fourth time this week...
Actually I guess I sometimes wear a zip up because I'm cold before I warm up, and then by halfway through the workout it's half unzipped and you can see my sports bra underneath. I don't think I've noticed anyone staring...clearly need to keep cutting.
No short shorts though. I'm sick of getting my shorts caught on the captain's chair bars when I'm doing pull-ups (it's one of those combination pull-up and captain chair setups) and having to untangle myself while locked-off so I don't pants myself. Cut-off sweats FTW.Olympus Labs Representative

There was some issue in the media while back about some lady was told to not to wear sports bra in the gym.
Soo...me of course go and ask the manager of my gym what is their rule on sports bras.
The manager is a twenty something guy, and I guess he finds my question amusing since he says "our rule is that you can't wear a bra at all, but only when the gym has closed".
So yeah, I took it to mean that sports bra is o.k.

I have seen plenty of ladies workout in sports bra and shorts at local 24 Hr Fitness. Heck there was a lady who did the cardio class wearing an actual bra, lace and everything.
I use the gym at work and I consider it an extension of work, so I don't wear sports bras or shorts there.Follow my 2018 competition prep here:
