Don't care about reading the five pages of bull****.

I used to have a '84 Impala that was an ex police car. Looked like it had heavy duty truck suspension, sway bar, oil cooler, large tranny cooler because it had the **** 700R4. Other then that it seemed like a run of the mill 350. Though it was a seperate category when I went to the parts store.

Crown Vics and current Impalas I can't imagine being anything special either. Maybe a bit more agressive computer to add performance and better suspension but they certainly aren't a purpose built car or they wouldn't sell them to the public after they are retired.

Well, I've never seen that, I had an 02 C-5 vette and an 02 SS Camaro, both with 6spds, the Camaro had all the SLP parts from factory installed, camaro had about 3K miles, vette had 1500. Both stock, vette put more to the ground. They both might be "under rated" however I have not seen an 01 or 02 F-body (stock) lay down more than it's corvette counterpart.

Still, both are great cars and I like that LS1

    I agree.

Once people start calculating how fast a car is traveling at the end of a 1/4 mile,(FT per second) they will soon realize what a huge difference that is.

If you owned both cars, I certainly can't argue with your results.

I live in the Chicagoland area, and the dyno shops I went to, and guys I hung around with had different results. Maybe they were comparing autos to MN6's, cause that would make a difference in drivetrain loss.

    Nice cars, BTW.
